Selenium nanoparticles (SeNPs) have garnered increased interest due to their significant role in human health, including the regulation of blood sugar levels, boosting the immune system, reducing oxidative stress, and other benefits. Conventional synthesis methods of SeNp employ the use of toxic chemicals and solvents, which are harmful to the environment; in contrast, the green synthesis method does not involve the use of any toxic chemicals. In this article, the green synthesis of SeNp using plant extracts, the influence of reaction parameters on their characteristic properties, and the application of SeNp in the present world are discussed.

Quantitative data from Taiwan, Malaysia, and Bangladesh are comprehensively analyzed using regression analysis and descriptive statistics. Results indicate that Taiwan, with its stringent regulatory frameworks and advanced recycling technologies, generates significantly less FW per capita compared to Malaysia and Bangladesh.

Heavy metal remediation of aqueous streams is of special concern due to the intractability and persistence in the environment. Adsorption is a potential alternative to the existing inefficient conventional technologies for the removal and recovery of metal ions from aqueous solutions and becomes vital to align with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and mitigate the adverse environmental and social impacts.

Activated carbon (AC) is the most common and economically viable adsorbent for eliminating toxic organic pollutants, particularly dyes, from wastewater. Its widespread adoption is due to the simplicity and affordable production of AC, wherein low-cost agricultural wastes, such as durian skin can be used. Converting durian skin into AC presents a promising solution for its solid waste management.

The values of risk factors for the human population were studied, where metals were transferred from tannery effluent to plants via effluent contaminated soil and finally, transmitted to human body through the consumption of these metal accumulated leafy vegetables. Leafy vegetables, namely Stem amaranths (), Spinach (), Red amaranths (), Jute mallows (), Water spinach (), and Malabar spinach () were cultivated on the soils collected from downstream of Hazaribagh tannery area and Keraniganj agricultural land.

The myco-coagulant produced from the liquid-state process was characterized and tested for flocculation of kaolin water. Molecular identification of the fungal strain isolated from river water and characterization of the myco-coagulant produced by the strain are presented in this paper.

In this study we studied the previously reported antagonism between the plant-pathogenic oomycete and the root-knot nematode , two root pathogens that co-occur in aerobic rice fields. In this manuscript, we investigated if the antagonism is related to imbalances in plant hormone levels, which could be involved in activation of plant defense.
