In soccer, relative population-specific acceleration intensity thresholds are required to create meaningful activity profiles. These thresholds can be derived from the maximal acceleration-initial running speed (amax-vinit) regression line, whose determination has so far required time-consuming testing. The aims of this study were to introduce a new method for determining population-specific amax-vinit regression lines in soccer using game locomotion data and to assess its validity as a function of the amount of data used.

Peripheral Retinal Ischemia and Secondary Neovascular Glaucoma after Cerclage for Retinal Detachment: A Case Report.

Introduction: The aim of this study was to investigate the 2-year postoperative efficacy of the XEN45 Gel Stent by evaluating the reduction of intraocular pressure (IOP) and the need for eye pressure-lowering medications in a multicenter setting in Switzerland.

Methods: Patients with various types of glaucoma who received a XEN45 Gel Stent with or without combined phacoemulsification cataract surgery at five hospitals in Switzerland were retrospectively enrolled. Pre- and postoperative IOP, the number of antiglaucoma medications, and the need of subsequent interventions to control IOP were assessed.

Volume-rendered optical coherence tomography angiography during ocular interventions: Advocating for noninvasive intraoperative retinal perfusion monitoring.

We aimed to test for feasibility of volume-rendered optical coherence tomography angiography (OCTA) as a novel method for assessing/quantifying retinal vasculature during ocular procedures and to explore the potential for intraoperative use. Thirty patients undergoing periocular anaesthesia were enrolled, since published evidence suggests a reduction in ocular blood flow. Retinal perfusion was monitored based on planar OCTA image-derived data provided by a standard quantification algorithm and postprocessed/volume-rendered OCTA data using a custom software script.

Purpose: In this study, we tested the hypothesis that augmented feedback (AF) training can improve both perceptual-cognitive and/or motor skills specific to soccer.

Methods: Three groups of young elite players (U14-U15 categories) performed a test consisting in passing the ball as accurately and as quickly as possible toward a visual target moving briefly across a large screen located at 6 m from the player. The performed task required players to correctly perceive the target, anticipate its future location, and to adequately adjust the pass direction and power.
