Objective: This study aimed to determine, using cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) exams, whether chewing side preference (CSP) affects the anatomical parameters of the temporomandibular joints (TMJ) in individuals with temporomandibular disorders (TMD) of articular origin.
Methods: A total of 106 CBCT exams were analyzed, divided into 56 exams of volunteers without a diagnosis of TMD (Control Group) and 50 exams from individuals diagnosed with TMD of joint origin (Experimental Group). The following parameters were analyzed: the axial and paracoronal shapes of the condyles, the degree of translation and rotation of the condyles, the volume of the condyles, and the height and inclination of the articular tubercles.
Objectives: to report on the contributions of the sandwich doctorate to the training of Nursing PhDs, exploring and analyzing its impacts on promoting international collaboration between graduate programs and its contribution to Sustainable Development Goals 4, 5, and 10.
Methods: this experience report describes a doctoral student's journey abroad, supported by a scholarship from the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq), at a Nursing School in Portugal, conducted between May and July 2023.
Results: the results are presented in three sections: activities performed; contributions of the sandwich doctorate to achieving Goals 4, 5, and 10; difficulties encountered and strategies for overcoming them.
Polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS)-based oil antifoams are extensively employed, but still, their impact on oil remains inconclusive due to the intricate nature and diverse composition of the oil. So far, the literature declares asphaltenes as the main contributors to foam stabilization followed by resins, along with short-chain carboxylic acids, solids, and even naphthenic acids. The present work aims to study the influence of antifoam formulations containing silicones of different molar masses on the oil/air interface, as well as evaluate its influence on the fractions separately, that is, on asphaltenes, on the model solution/air interface, and also on resins, examining the maltene/air interface.

Human exposure to radionuclides from naturally occurring radioactive material (NORM) varies according to daily activities and proximity to natural radioactive sources in the environment. Studies conducted in municipalities of Recife's metropolitan region detected radionuclides, such as radon, in food, soil, atmosphere, and well water. However, human biomonitoring in this population remains necessary.

Methods: A scoping review was performed following Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines to identify articles from six electronic databases: MEDLINE via the PubMed interface, Embase, Age-Line, Scopus, CINAHL, and Cochrane.
Results: Among 30 studies reporting on compassion in dental treatment, only two reported on the effects of compassionate care on oral health outcomes.
Introduction: Generational diversity in nursing has introduced new challenges, for nurse managers and practice environments, in addressing both the nurses' and clients' needs and organizations' social and health policies. The organizational climate encourages professionals to preserve positive practice environments, which promotes a healthy coexistence between generations, respecting their distinctive characteristics and values, with the essential purpose of ensuring the team's effectiveness and the organization's success.
Objective: To map the available scientific evidence on the generational diversity of nurses in professional practice environments.
Purpose: The aim of this study is to investigate the existing evidence regarding the effectiveness of strategies aimed at combating ageism against older adults among dental students.
Methods: A systematic review was performed following preferred reporting items for systematic reviews and meta-analyses (PRISMA) guidelines to identify articles from seven electronic databases: MEDLINE via the PubMed interface, Embase, Age-Line, Scopus, Web of Science, CINAHL, and Cochrane.
Results: Among twenty-four references reporting on ageism among oral health care providers and/or students, only two reported on the outcomes of strategies for combating ageism at dental schools, with a 12-year gap between them.
Purpose: The aim of this study is to investigate the effectiveness of geriatric dentistry courses as a combating strategy against ageism among dental students.
Methods: A pre-post prospective study was conducted in three different dental schools located in the State of Sao Paulo, Brazil, that offered geriatric dentistry courses in their curricula. A questionnaire specifically developed for this research and the "Ageism Scale for Dental Students" (ASDS) were applied before and after geriatric dentistry courses in all three dental schools.
In recent years, research has increasingly highlighted the significance of nursing practice environments, linking positive settings with enhanced job satisfaction, professional autonomy, and care quality. Such environments can decrease turnover, stress, and costs while improving patient safety. Despite this extensive literature, there is limited consensus on defining a 'positive nursing practice environment', highlighting the need for a systematic analysis to advance understanding and application.

In this context, a novel analytical approach has been proposed to determine verapamil in biological samples, using bar adsorptive microextraction coated with reversed-phase polymers followed by high-performance liquid chromatography with diode array detection. Two adsorbents have been chosen, STRATA-CN and ENVI-18 polymers, showing recoveries from 56.

Methods: A descriptive study with a qualitative approach was conducted in a hospital in northern Portugal, involving 17 nurses. Semi-structured interviews were used for data collection.
Aim: The aim of this study is to test the validity and reliability of the shortened version of the Scale for the Environments Evaluation of Professional Nursing Practice (SEE-Nursing Practice).
Methods: This methodological, cross-sectional study was conducted between September and December 2022. The original version of the SEE-Nursing Practice was administered in questionnaire format across 17 hospitals.

This is a reflective study with the objective of analyzing the possibilities of access to employment by refugees in the Brazilian territory, in view of the socio-legal conditions in Brazil, understanding the relationship between work and health. Refugees experience the penalty of restricted access to employment, which has a significant impact on their lives. By remaining disconnected from work, they are pushed to the margins of society.

Chronic inflammatory diseases are triggered by causal stimuli that might occur long before the appearance of the symptoms. Increasing evidence suggests that these stimuli are necessary but not always sufficient to induce the diseases. The murine model of type II collagen emulsified in Freund's incomplete adjuvant (collagen-induced arthritis) to induce rheumatoid arthritis (RA) follows this pattern as some animals do not develop the chronically inflamed phenotype.
