This systematic review analyzes transcriptomic research conducted between 2010 and 2024, focusing on methodologies such as Expressed Sequence Tags (ESTs) and Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS).

Anti-Inflammatory Diet and Probiotic Supplementation as Strategies to Modulate Immune Dysregulation in Autism Spectrum Disorder.

: Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a neurodevelopmental condition associated with behavioral and cognitive impairments. Increasing evidence also links ASD with systemic immune dysregulation, including abnormal cytokine profiles and chronic low-grade inflammation. Emerging evidence suggests that targeted dietary strategies and probiotic supplementation may modulate immune responses and gut-brain interactions in patients with ASD.

Acute meningoencephalitis associated with SARS-CoV-2 infection in Colombia.

We present the case of a patient in the third decade of life, with asthma as comorbidity, who presented to the emergency department due to odynophagia, dyspnea, and cough of 2 days of evolution, later developing acute ventilatory failure requiring orotracheal intubation. The high-resolution chest tomography study showed consolidation due to a pneumonic process towards the posterior segment of the right lower lobe with areas of ground-glass infiltrates with a peripheral distribution. During the clinical course, the patient presented multiple seizure episodes that met the criteria for status epilepticus with MRI compatible with changes due to leptomeningitis.
