The variability of milk spectra within and between dairy animals reflects the complex biological processes underlying milk production. Studying this variability may offer insights into an animal's physiological or health status and help elucidate relationships between specific genes and milk's chemical structure. Over 4 yr, biweekly Fourier transform infrared spectra were recorded on 41,075 sheep milk samples collected from 1,256 Sarda ewes at morning and evening milkings.

The thermization of milk is a sub-pasteurization process that is commonly used in cheese-making to lower the bacterial load and increase the shelf life of the product; it is therefore a cause of non-compliance with the PDO specification of Fiore Sardo cheese, allowing producers to gain practical and economic advantages. In this work, NIR spectroscopy coupled with multivariate discriminant analysis was used to identify the thermal treatment of milk in Fiore Sardo cheese samples.

Objective: Periprosthetic joint infection (PJI) is the most feared complication after prosthesis implantation, especially in the oncological population. Anti-microbial coatings are a new potential strategy to reduce this infection risk further. This study aims to provide an overview of the coating technologies currently being used or explored in megaprostheses to minimize the PJI rate following surgery.

Methods: A total of 62 participants were assigned to either the psychoeducation (PE) group or the control (CTR) group, with TA measured both before and after the intervention.
Results: Results demonstrated a significant increase in TA in the PE group compared to the controls at the conclusion of the study.

Background: Distal femur fractures present a significant challenge for orthopedic surgeons, accounting for approximately 5% of all femoral fractures. Among the most commonly reported combined techniques in the literature are the double-plate technique and the retrograde nailing plus lateral plating, the nail-plate construct (NPC). The aim of our study is to compare surgical data, quality of life, and functional outcomes in 33-C fractures treated with either double-plate constructs or a retrograde nailing plus lateral plate.
