The integration of artificial intelligence (AI) and all new technologies (NTs) into enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS) protocols offers significant opportunities to address implementation challenges and improve patient care. Despite the proven benefits of ERAS, limitations such as resistance to change, resource constraints, and poor interdepartmental communication persist. AI can play a crucial role in overcoming ERAS implementation barriers by simplifying clinical plans, ensuring high compliance, and creating patient-centered approaches.

Purpose: To investigate changes in the serum concentration and renal expression of IL-1 and TNF-α cytokines in rats that received sevoflurane and glibenclamide prior to hemorrhage.

Methods: Two groups of sevoflurane-anesthetized Wistar rats (n=10): G1 (control) and G2 (glibenclamide, 1 µg/g i.v.

Background: The World Health Organization (WHO) has recommended greater attention to patient safety, particularly regarding preventable adverse events. The Safe Surgery Saves Lives (CSSV) program was released recommending the application of a surgical checklist for items on the safety of procedures. The checklist implementation reduced the hospital mortality rate in the first 30 days.

Background And Objectives: Since its clinical introduction in the 80s, intraoperative transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) has represented one of the greatest advances in modern cardiac anesthesia. It is a semi-invasive technique that allows direct and fast visualization of structural anatomy of the heart and great vessels as well as contributes to hemodynamic and functional evaluation of the cardiovascular system. Thus, it has become an important monitor in aiding the diagnosis of cardiac pathologies and anesthesia and surgical interventions.

Introduction: Hypovolemia from hemorrhage evokes protective compensatory reactions, such as the renin-angiotensin system, which interferes in the clearance function and can lead to ischemia. This study was designed to evaluate the effects of glibenclamide, a K(+)(ATP) channel blocker, on renal function and histology in rats in a state of hemorrhagic shock under sevoflurane anesthesia.

Material And Methods: Twenty Wistar rats were randomized into two groups of 10 animals each (G1 and G2), only one of which (G2) received intravenous glibenclamide (1 microg.
