Chlamydia trachomatis is an obligate intracellular Gram-negative pathogen that causes sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and trachoma. Current interventions are limited due to the widespread nature of asymptomatic infections, and the absence of a licensed vaccine exacerbates the challenge. In this study, we predicted outer membrane β-barrel (OMBB) proteins and designed a multi-epitope vaccine (MEV) construct using identified proteins.

Objective: To explore the stakeholders' perspectives on barriers and facilitators influencing childhood cancer care delivery in India.

Methods: A nationwide survey was conducted across 26 states and 4 Union Territories, involving childhood cancer physicians from tertiary and secondary hospitals, state nodal officers (SNOs) for the National Programme for Control of Non-Communicable Diseases (NP-NCD), and representatives from Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) and Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs). A hub-and-spoke sampling model was employed, with designated tertiary hospitals coordinating data collection from secondary hospitals.

A Study of Surgical Outcomes and Complications in Children Undergoing Ventriculoperitoneal Shunt in a Tertiary Care Hospital of Eastern India.

Context: Hydrocephalus, which is characterized by an abnormal elevation of cerebrospinal fluid within the ventricles of the brain, is one of the more formidable neurosurgical challenges, particularly in pediatric patients. Ventriculoperitoneal (VP) shunt is the preferred procedure; however, it is often associated with high rates of complication, including obstruction, infection, and overdrainage. The present study evaluated the outcomes and complications from VP-shunting in a tertiary hospital in eastern India.

Characterization of Novel Plantaricin-Derived Antiviral Peptides Against Flaviviruses.

Flaviviruses, including West Nile virus, Zika virus, and Dengue virus, pose global health challenges due to their distribution, pathogenicity, and lack of effective treatments or vaccines. This study investigated the antiviral activity of novel truncated peptides derived from the two-peptide plantaricins PLNC8 αβ, PlnEF, PlnJK, and PlnA. Here, we present cellular target engagement by accumulation of mutant as a platform that can concomitantly evaluate drug-target interactions and phenotypic responses using conditionally stabilized drug biosensors. We observe that drug-responsive proteotypes are prevalent among reported mutants of known drug targets.

This study aimed to further elucidate the antiviral effects of PLNC8 αβ and its impact on virus-induced cytotoxicity and inflammatory signaling in human alveolar epithelial cells (A549) infected with the flavivirus Kunjin. A qualitative inquiry was employed to understand the perceived benefits and challenges of research collaborations by biomedical scientists from India (Global South [GS] country) and the Global North (GN).
