Analysis of the effects of MIPPO under the anterolateral approach on stress indicators and ankle joint function in patients with open fracture of tibia and fibula.

Background: To compare clinical application value of minimally invasive percutaneous plate osteosynthesis (MIPPO) through anterolateral approach and conventional posterolateral approach, and conduct retrospective analysis of MIPPO surgical methods through different approaches in patients with open tibial and fibular fractures (OTFF), to supply reference for clinical operations.

Methods: A retrospective analysis was implemented on 84 patients with distal OTFF divided into groups according to different approaches for MIPPO surgery. Patients who received MIPPO treatment through anterolateral approach were in observation group ( = 42), and patients who received MIPPO treatment through conventional posterolateral approach were in the control group ( = 42).

Background: To assess the effect of low-molecular-weight heparin (LMWH) combined with evoked potentials somatosensory evoked potential (SEP) on the prevention of deep vein thrombosis (DVT) in patients undergoing spinal surgery.

Methods: One hundred twenty-eight patients who underwent spinal surgery from August 2022 to August 2023 were chosen, and the patients were randomly classified into the control group and the observation group, with 64 cases in each group. The control group received LMWH injections.

Background: Lipid abnormality and obesity have been proposed to be associated with lumbar disc degeneration, but little is known about the effect of 'lipid healthy but obese' (LH-O) and 'lipid abnormal but not obese' (LA-NO) phenotypes on lumbar disc degeneration in Chinese. The study aims to determine the impact and distinction of LH-O and LA-NO phenotypes on lumbar disc degeneration in Chinese, and to identify the association of related factors with risk of lumbar disc degeneration.

Methods: A total of 678 individuals were included with lumbar magnetic resonance imaging, serum lipid levels and anthropometric measurements.
