Prospective effects of social support on self-actualization at work - The mediating role of basic psychological need fulfillment.

Self-actualization - an ethically meaningful, eudaimonic way of living - is achieved by self-determined activities and realizing one's highest potential. Therefore, personal growth and human fulfillment are considered central aspects. In accordance with self-determination theory this study aims to longitudinally investigate the mediating role of basic psychological need satisfaction - combined and separately - within the association between social support and indicators of self-actualization at work.

S2K Guideline for Diagnosis of Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis.

Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) is a severe and often fatal disease. Diagnosis of IPF requires considerable expertise and experience. Since the publication of the international IPF guideline in the year 2011 and the update 2018 several studies and technical advances have occurred, which made a new assessment of the diagnostic process mandatory.

Survival and course of lung function in the presence or absence of antifibrotic treatment in patients with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis: long-term results of the INSIGHTS-IPF registry.

Objective: There is a paucity of observational data on antifibrotic therapy for idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF). We aimed to assess the course of disease of IPF patients with and without antifibrotic therapy under real-life conditions.

Methods: We analysed data from a non-interventional, prospective cohort study of consecutively enrolled IPF patients from 20 interstitial lung disease expert centres in Germany.

Since publication of the ATS-ERS statement on IPF in the year 2000 diagnostic standards have improved and a considerable number of randomized controlled treatment trials have been published necessitating a revision. In the years 2006 - 2010 an international panel of IPF experts produced an evidence-based guideline on diagnosis and treatment of IPF, which was published in 2011.

Paired comparison of apheresis platelet function after storage in two containers.

Platelet quality after storage strongly depends on the pre-storage quality as well as on the storage conditions determined by the storage container. In this paired study, we evaluated two different containers (MedSep CLX and Delmed DPL-110). The Fresenius AS104 cell separator was used to prepare 17 platelet concentrates that were split and distributed into the containers to be compared.

Comparison of a new WBC-reduction system and the standard plateletpheresis protocol in the same donors.

Background: A cell separator (Spectra, Gambro BCT) with an integrated leukoreduction system (LRS) for producing WBC-reduced single-donor platelet concentrates has been shown to result in a slightly reduced collection efficiency as compared to the former Spectra system without LRS. A novel modified system for improved collection efficiencies (LRS Turbo, Gambro BCT) was evaluated.

Study Design And Methods: Each of 37 donors underwent plateletpheresis using the LRS Turbo (LRS-T) and the standard LRS (LRS) of the Spectra cell separator.
