Due to the bioavailability and movement of antimony in trophic web, the overexploitation of antimony mine resulted in antimony contamination that harmed the ecology nearby, raising concerns for public health. Whereas, most researches focused on the removal of antimony in the aqueous instead of the immobilization of antimony in the soil. Herein, the immobilized performance of biochar (BC) loaded with nano zero-valent iron (nZVI-BC) on antimony in the soil near the smelting area was researched through pot experiments for the first time, and its stabilization mechanism on antimony was investigated by valent state variation of antimony.

The fate of fluoroquinolone antibiotics norfloxacin and ofloxacin were investigated in mesocosmic wetlands, along with their effects on nutrients removal, antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs) and epiphytic microbial communities on Hydrilla verticillate using bionic plants as control groups. Approximately 99% of norfloxacin and ofloxacin were removed from overlaying water, and H. verticillate inhibited fluoroquinolones accumulation in surface sediments compared to bionic plants.

The discharge of tailing leachate and metallurgical wastewater has led to an increasing trend of water pollution. In this study, nZVI-modified low-temperature biochar was used to adsorb Sb(III) from water. The adsorption capacity and speed of nZVI-BC were better than those of BC, and the best adsorption effect was observed for 4nZVI-BC, with 93.

Although in vitro simulation and in vivo feeding experiments are commonly used to evaluate the carrier role of microplastics in the bioaccumulation of toxic chemicals, there is no direct method for quantitatively determining their vector effect. In this study, we propose a dual-labeled method based on spiking unlabeled hydrophobic organic contaminants (HOCs) into soils and spiking their respective isotope-labeled reference compounds into microplastic particles. The bioaccumulation of the unlabeled and isotope-labeled HOCs in earthworms was compared.

The rapid growth of plastic wastes exceeds efforts to eliminate plastic pollution owing to the outbreak of COVID-19 in 2020 and then aggravates inherent environmental threats to the ecosystem. The paper provided a short introduction relating to the hazards of plastic wastes on environment and a detailed statement about plastic toxicity on human. The article stated on plastic how to enter the body and cause harm for us step by step.

Single-crystal sapphire (α-AlO) is an important material and widely used in many advanced fields. The semi-fixed abrasive grain processing method based on solid-phase reaction theory is a prominent processing method for achieving ultra-precision damage-free surfaces. In order to develop the proposed method for polishing sapphire, the basic characteristics of the semi-fixed abrasive grains polishing tool for polishing sapphire were determined.

As rapid industrial and social growth, antimony mines are the overexploited, leading to the accumulation of trivalent antimony in the aquatic environment near smelters, which harm human health. To eradicate trivalent antimony from water, an innovative nanomaterial in the form of sludge biochar loaded with zero-valent bimetal was synthesized using a liquid-phase reduction method. The adsorption performance of the nanomaterial for trivalent antimony was investigated based on a series of adsorption experiments using sludge biochar, nano zero-valent iron biochar, and nano zero-valent bimetal biochar.
