Methods: We conducted a prospective observational study of 224 adult patients scheduled for elective videolaryngoscopic intubations using a Macintosh blade. We excluded patients who had cervical spine issues, airway disease, anticipated difficult intubation, or a body mass index > 35 kg·m, or who required rapid sequence induction.

Background/aims: Multiple myeloma (MM) predominantly affects elderly individuals, but studies on older patients with MM are limited. The clinical characteristics and survival outcomes of patients with MM aged 80 years or over were retrospectively analyzed.
Methods: This retrospective multicenter study was conducted to investigate the clinical characteristics, treatment patterns, and survival outcomes of patients aged 80 years or over who were newly diagnosed with MM at five academic hospitals in Daegu, Korea, between 2010 and 2019.
Objective: We aimed to compare the success of non-normalized acceleromyographic neuromuscular monitoring and recovery profiles based on the depth of anesthesia at the time of sugammadex administration.
Methods: Patients undergoing general anesthesia were prospectively and randomly allocated to two groups. In the BIS60 group, sugammadex was administered when there was a bispectral index (BIS) <60 and anesthesia was maintained until a train-of-four ratio ≥1.
Background: Thoracic epidural analgesia (TEA), once the standard for pain management in major abdominal operations, is associated with postoperative complications, making preperitoneal continuous wound infiltration (CWI) a promising alternative.
