Prevalence, correlates, and treatment behaviors for urolithiasis and renal colic-like pain symptoms at the population level in Poland.

The prevalence of urolithiasis and renal colic-like pain symptoms differs by region because of geographical, climatic, dietary, genetic, and lifestyle factors. In addition, reliable data for Central and Eastern Europe are lacking. Therefore, we analyzed the prevalence, correlates, and treatment behaviors for these conditions in a representative sample of 10,029 adult Poles.

Awareness of Tobacco-Related Diseases among Adults in Poland: A 2022 Nationwide Cross-Sectional Survey.

Warning about the dangers of tobacco use is a key element of tobacco control policy. The COVID-19 pandemic may impact public perception of the health risks of tobacco use. The aim of this study was to assess the level of knowledge of tobacco-related diseases among adults in Poland, as well as to identify sociodemographic factors associated with awareness of tobacco-related diseases.

Persons with allergy symptoms use alternative medicine more often.

Introduction: The aim of the study is to indicate the relation between the use of alternative medicine and the occurrence of allergic diseases in the Polish population of adults in the age of 20-44 years. Moreover the additional aim of the study is to define the relation between the sex, age and place of living and the use of alternative medicine.

Material And Methods: The data from the project Epidemiology of Allergic Diseases in Poland (ECAP) has been used for analysis.

The relationship between antibiotic therapy in early childhood and the symptoms of allergy in children aged 6-8 years - the questionnaire study results.

Introduction: Studies based on the ISAAC questionnaire suggest a correlation between the use of antibiotics and the prevalence of asthma and allergy in children aged 6-7 years. The number of courses of antibiotic therapy is an important factor.

Objectives: To investigate the relationship between the use of antibiotics during the first years of life and the prevalence of allergy and asthma among children (aged 6-8 years) in the urban population of Poland.
