Family Violence Risk on Entry to the Family Courts of Australia: Profiles and Predictive Validity of the DOORS Triage Process.

The Family DOORS Triage Tool is a self-report measure of family violence victimization and perpetration risk, completed by parties on filing or responding to a parenting matter in the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia (Divisions 1 and 2), collectively "the Courts." The tool and associated risk rubric inform subsequent risk response processes within the Courts. We sought to test the tool's utility and fitness-for-purpose within a new family violence response initiative by the Courts.

General Practitioner perspectives on genomics in primary care: using polygenic risk scores to evaluate cancer risk.

Background: Polygenic Risk Scores (PRSs) enable personalisation of cancer risk, supporting risk stratification for melanoma, and colorectal, breast, and prostate cancers. Inclusion of PRS in cancer risk assessment can facilitate risk-appropriate cancer screening by incorporating individuals' age, sex, family history and genomic test results. General Practitioners (GPs) are the likely healthcare professionals to order PRS tests and deliver results to patients within existing preventative health models.

Unique Contributions of Social Workers to Geriatric Assessments for Community-Dwelling Older Persons.

Interdisciplinary teams, which include social workers, improve care and outcomes for older persons; however, trends show some geriatric programs are replacing social workers with nurse case managers or community health workers to cut costs. This study aimed to identify the unique, discipline-specific contributions of social workers in comprehensive geriatric assessments. Semi-structured interviews and inductive qualitative analysis were conducted to examine the role social workers within an interdisciplinary team at one US Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) hospital.
