Article Synopsis
  • The case study discusses a 5-year-old boy with unilateral sporadic retinoblastoma who underwent intra-arterial chemotherapy and had his affected eye removed.
  • Follow-up MRI scans showed a progressive Chiari malformation type I, marked by the herniation of cerebellar tonsils through the foramen magnum, but no additional complications like tumors or hydrocephalus.
  • The findings suggest a potential link between progressive Chiari malformation and the patient's history of retinoblastoma, even in the absence of prior radiotherapy.
