Earlier results in ovine models for the fetoscopic management of gastroschisis highlight the benefits of minimally invasive coverage; yet specialized instruments appear to be needed for better procedural execution. The aim of this study was to create and validate a first prototype instrument for the prenatal covering of the protruded intestines in gastroschisis.

(1) Minimally invasive techniques are standard in colorectal surgery, though complete mesocolic excision (CME) with central lymphadenectomy remains technically demanding. Robotic systems may address these challenges. While the DaVinci system is well established, the modular Dexter system allows rapid switching between laparoscopy and robotics.

The improvement of skills requires lifelong motivation, critical thinking and openness to new technologies. However, it remains unclear whether there is an association between the expression of personality traits such as motivation or critical thinking, and the duration of work experience.

Background: Different tumor markers are utilized in the assessment of breast cancer. The function of these markers in assessing, tracking, and following up on breast cancer has drawn the interest of numerous researchers. Nonetheless, contradictory findings from research continue to raise questions regarding their effectiveness.

: Cesarean hysterectomy is a critical intervention often required to manage life-threatening postpartum hemorrhage (PPH) due to complications such as uterine atony, abnormal placental implantation, or traumatic rupture. Although lifesaving, the procedure is associated with significant risks and complications. This study investigates the causes and outcomes of cesarean hysterectomy, focusing on complications arising from the procedure.

Education and training are key factors of sustainable success, and surgical tutoring by an experienced external surgeon (proctoring) has emerged as a very useful method of training surgeons. Proctoring enables surgeons to train their respective skills and eventually improve the overall quality of surgical care.

Background: Obstetric violence (OBV), defined as mistreatment or abuse during childbirth, is a pervasive global issue, albeit with regional differences, affecting women's physical and emotional well-being.
Objectives: The purpose of this systematic review and meta-analysis is to assess the prevalence of OBV to identify risk factors associated with OBV and to make suggestions for improving maternal healthcare practices and policies.
Search Strategy: In a systematic review and meta-analysis, we searched four electronic databases for studies published over 10 years up to 31 January 2024: Medline (PubMed), Scopus, Embase, and Web of Science (WOS).
Postoperative adhesions represent a major medical challenge and are associated with serious health and economic consequences. 4DryField PH (PlantTec Medical GmbH, Lueneburg, Germany) is a starch-based medical device designed both to prevent adhesions and for hemostasis. This paper explores methods to successfully apply it in gynecological surgery, leveraging the authors' extensive clinical experience.

Methods: We obtained data on CC annually from 2010 to 2019 from the 2019 Global Burden of Disease Study (GBD) to analyze the incidence, death and prevalence rates, and disability-adjusted life years (DALYs) associated with CC across different parameters such as global trend, age groups, SDI, continents, World Bank Regions, World Health Organization (WHO) regions, GBD regions, and National and territorial division. This analysis covers data from 204 countries and territories from 1990 to 2019.
Background: The cesarean scar niche, a consequence of incomplete wound healing, can lead to gynecological complications and affect future pregnancies. While internal niches have been well-studied, external and bidirectional niches are also important.
Objective: We aimed to conduct a comparative analysis of the prevalence and measurements of different types of niches.

Background: Due to the declining interest among medical students in pursuing a surgical career, the impact of demographic changes and the technical challenges, there is an increasing need to attract medical students to the surgical profession. Against this backdrop, a teaching project was developed to familiarize medical students with minimally invasive surgical techniques early in the preclinical education, thereby increasing the interest in surgery.
Material And Methods: Within the framework of the regular anatomical dissection course the following modules on laparoscopic surgery were integrated: (1) clinical lecture on the technique and application of laparoscopy, (2) exploratory live laparoscopy on a body donor and (3) practical exercises on laparoscopic trainers.
Introduction: For over two decades, abdominal surgical procedures have been safely performed robotically. After the first patent expiration, alternative robotic systems entered the market. The Dexter Robotic System™ is a small-format, modular, and robotic platform consisting of a surgeon's console, two patient carts with instrument arms, and one endoscope arm.

Importance: The formation of adhesions after gynecological surgery not only has detrimental impacts on those affected, including pain, obstruction, and infertility, but also imposes a high economic burden on healthcare systems worldwide.
Objective: The aim of this review was to evaluate the adhesion prevention potential of all currently available adhesion barriers for gynecological surgery.
Evidence Acquisition: We systematically searched MEDLINE and CENTRAL databases for randomized controlled trials (RCTs) on the use of adhesion barriers as compared with peritoneal irrigation or no treatment in gynecological surgery.
