This case report presents the details of an elderly man in Zhejiang Province of China, who tested human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) negative and subsequently developed Nodal Marginal Zone Lymphoma (NMZL) along with disseminated infection. The study focuses on analyzing the distinct clinical symptoms and pathological manifestations in order to offer precise diagnosis and effective treatment for patients. A 76-year-old male patient was admitted to our hospital due to recurrent fever.

Through a comprehensive retrospective analysis of a 52-year-old woman with primary ovarian lymphoma (POL) and a review of similar cases over the past decade in the PubMed database, we gained several key insights into improving the understanding of POL among clinicians and radiologists for accurate diagnosis. POL is more prevalent among women in their 40s and usually presents with clinical manifestations of a solid mass (typically over 10 cm) and abdominal pain with B symptoms. Four imaging features show promise as indicators of potential diagnostic value in POL: the ovarian retention sign, touching ovaries, vascular floatation, and the sandwich sign.

Cervical aggressive fibromatosis is a rare intermediate tumor characterized by invasive growth. Aggressive fibromatosis (AF), also referred to as desmoid-type fibrosarcoma or grade I fibrosarcoma, is a clonal proliferative lesion of fibroblasts located in deep soft tissues. While many cases have been reported, there are relatively few involving aggressive fibromatosis in the anterior inferior margin muscle space of the neck trapezius muscle.

Rosai-Dorfman Disease (RDD) is a rare, benign, idiopathic histiocytic proliferative disorder, with its occurrence in the cranial bones being particularly uncommon and prone to misdiagnosis in preoperative radiological examinations. This article reports a case of RDD in the left temporal bone. The radiological presentation of intraosseous RDD includes osteolytic bone destruction, infrequent periosteal reaction, clearly defined tumor margins, and marked uniform enhancement on contrast-enhanced scans.

Article Synopsis
  • The incidence of leiomyosarcoma (LMS) is rare, affecting about 4-5 individuals per 100,000 annually, with small bowel LMS being even more uncommon and challenging to diagnose preoperatively.
  • Two patients with confirmed small bowel LMS were analyzed for their clinical and imaging characteristics, along with a review of similar cases from the past decade.
  • LMS tumors were classified into three types based on their growth direction relative to the intestinal lumen, with intramural leiomyosarcoma emerging as a significant subtype; smaller tumor sizes and intraluminal types appear to have better prognoses, while extraluminal types are linked to worse outcomes.

Article Synopsis
  • A multitask deep learning model was developed to predict microvascular invasion (MVI) and recurrence-free survival (RFS) in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) using preoperative MRI scans from 725 patients.
  • The model demonstrated high accuracy in predicting MVI, with AUC values ranging from 0.800 to 0.918 across training and external test sets, and improved radiologists' performance when utilized.
  • For RFS predictions, the model achieved moderate C-index values, indicating potential clinical utility, especially for patients at high risk of MVI and low survival scores, suggesting a need for further prospective studies.

Malignant transformation of epidermoid cysts is a rare complication. Most of the previously reported cases have involved postoperative malignant transformations. We present a case of malignant transformation of a nonpostoperative epidermoid tumor into squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) that occurred in a 61-year-old Chinese woman.

Smoking is closely related to the occurrence of stroke. The degree of nicotine dependence and willingness to quit smoking are key factors that determine whether a smoker can successfully quit smoking. Few studies have been conducted on factors affecting the willingness to quit smoking among smokers who suffered from stroke.

Purpose: To retrospectively evaluate the risk factors and the clinical outcomes of bile duct injury after transcatheter arterial chemoembolization (TACE) for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and to evaluate factors that aid clinical detection and subsequent treatment of the injured bile duct.

Materials And Methods: All patients undergoing TACE for HCC were retrospectively reviewed for identification of bile duct injury. The clinical spectrum of all the patients analyzed including patients' demographics, laboratory data, radiologic imaging and mode of treatment.

Objective: To evaluate the diagnostic value of CT pulmonary artery (CTPA) imaging with idiopathic pulmonary artery hypertension (IPAH).

Methods: A total of 20 patients with right heart catheterization (RHC) proven IPAH were retrospectively analyzed between January 2012 and November 2015.The imaging was analyzed including pulmonary parenchyma, pulmonary interstitial, mediastinal lymph nodes, pericardium and pleural cavity on the CTPA examination.
