Statement Of Problem: The hatch distance, which refers to the spacing between adjacent laser lines in the laser melting process, may influence the microstructure of the metal framework and, hence, the metal-ceramic bond strength. However, studies on the influence of hatch distance on metal-ceramic bond strength are lacking.

Purpose: The purpose of this in vitro study was to investigate the porcelain bond strength of cobalt chromium frameworks fabricated using selective laser melting with hatch distances of 50 µm, 55 µm, and 60 µm.

Type 1 gastric carcinoid tumor: another extrahepatic manifestation of hepatitis C virus infection?

A 67 year-old female with a 10-year history of cirrhosis due to hepatitis C virus who developed a gastric carcinoid tumor of the corpus is described. Carcinoid tumor was identified during her last routine gastroscopic evaluation for portal hypertension. In the case, serum parietal cell antibodies, hypergastrinemia and atrophic gastritis were also found.
