Weight bias in healthcare can affect the quality of care and create health disparities. In nursing, the presence of weight-biassed attitudes influences the therapeutic relationship and clinical decision-making. However, in Spain, research on this phenomenon remains scarce, hindering the development of strategies to mitigate its impact.

Healthcare professionals in the emergency ambulance service are more likely to experience mental health disorders than the overall population. The demographic and occupational variables and Sense of Coherence (SOC) can act as predictors of PMH and can serve as protective elements against stress and demanding situations in the work environment.

The effects of rhythmic auditory stimulation on functional ambulation after stroke: a systematic review.

Background: Several studies have reported the effect of rhythmic auditory stimulation (RAS) on functional ambulation in stroke patients, yet no systematic overview has yet been published. This study aims to synthesize the available evidence describing changes in stroke patients after RAS intervention for functional ambulation and the use of walking assistive devices, and to find out if the effect of RAS and music-based RAS differs depending on the lesioned area.

Methods: The PubMed, PEDro, Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials, Web of Science, Scopus and CINAHL electronic databases were searched for reports evaluating the effect of RAS on walking in stroke patients, applying the PICOS criteria for the inclusion of studies.

Assessing the Student Nurses' Knowledge of Oral Health Care.

Oral health is crucial for the overall well-being and quality of life, and nurses play a significant role in promoting it. This study assessed the oral health knowledge of fourth-grade nursing degree students. Seventy-two students completed a questionnaire covering sociodemographic variables, oral health-related factors, knowledge about oral health, and perceptions of its importance and learning experiences.

A Qualitative Approach to Exploring the Impact of the Gay Identity Formation Process.

Background: Most gay men experience difficulty in coming to terms with their sexual orientation, with their health, wellbeing, and quality of life potentially affected by unpleasant experiences often associated with the formation of their gay identity. It is therefore important for nurses to understand the needs of gay men so that they can accompany them and provide quality care during and after the identity formation process.

Service Learning Experience on Health Habits in High School Students Conducted by Nursing Students: A Qualitative Design.

Service learning is a teaching methodology that combines learning and service to the community in the same well-articulated project, where the participants are trained to improve and work on the real needs of the environment. This paper aimed to explore learning about healthy habits and standards of nursing professional practice through a service learning activity between nursing students and high school students. Data of participants (N = 127 high school students and N = 12 nursing students) were collected by the high school students' healthy habits mind map and with the help of the nursing students' reflective journals.

Control of Therapeutic Levels of Anticoagulation and Associated Factors: A Prospective Cohort Study.

Maintaining therapeutic levels of anticoagulation is essential to avoid health complications in people who take vitamin K antagonists. This study aimed to analyze the influence of people's characteristics and the presence of changes in their lives in the control of therapeutic levels of anticoagulation. A longitudinal multicenter study with a 1-year follow-up of a cohort of 199 people receiving anticoagulant therapy was performed.

El sentido de coherencia y las habilidades para la vida como factores protectores en personas con prediabetes.

Objetivo: analizar el sentido de coherencia y las habilidades para la vida y su relación con el cumplimiento del estilo de vida saludable.

MÉtodo: estudio observacional transversal en personas con prediabetes atendidas en atención primaria, quienes respondieron a un cuestionario con variables sociodemográficas y hábitos saludables y a los cuestionarios de sentido de coherencia y habilidades para la vida. Se realizó un análisis descriptivo, bivariante y un modelo de regresión múltiple.

The Effect of Music-Based Rhythmic Auditory Stimulation on Balance and Functional Outcomes after Stroke.

Purpose: the purpose of this paper was to evaluate the effects of music-based rhythmic auditory stimulation on balance and motor function after stroke and whether there are differences depending on the affected hemisphere, lesion site and age.

Materials And Methods: This study was an observational and longitudinal study. Adult stroke survivors ( = 28), starting no later than 3 weeks after a stroke, conducted 90 min sessions of music-based rhythmic auditory stimulation 3 days a week, in addition to 60 min a day of conventional physiotherapy.

Effects of a Music-Based Rhythmic Auditory Stimulation on Gait and Balance in Subacute Stroke.

Gait and balance impairments are common after stroke. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of a music-based rhythmic auditory stimulation (RAS) in combination with conventional physiotherapy on gait parameters and walking ability in subacute stroke. This single-blind, historical controlled trial, included 55 patients who had suffered a stroke within the three weeks prior to enrolment.
