Background: Identifying patients unlikely to achieve meaningful improvement following total knee arthroplasty (TKA) supports more effective shared decision-making (SDM). This study aimed to develop and validate machine learning (ML) models that preoperatively predict insufficient clinical improvement one year after TKA using Western Ontario and McMaster Universities Osteoarthritis Index (WOMAC) subscales and total scores, and to assess the important predictive variables.
Methods: A retrospective analysis was performed on consecutive primary TKA patients from 2004 to 2022 at a single tertiary hospital was conducted.

Unlabelled: With the advent of robot-assisted surgery, user-friendly technologies have been applied to the da Vinci surgical system (dVSS), and their efficacy has been validated in worldwide surgical fields. However, further improvements are required to the traditional manipulation methods, which cannot control an endoscope and surgical instruments simultaneously. This study proposes a speech recognition control interface (SRCI) for controlling the endoscope via speech commands while manipulating surgical instruments to replace the traditional method.

Purpose: To assess the radiological parameters associated with osteoarthritis (OA) progression and the need for surgery in the nonoperated knee after unilateral HTO, with concurrent assessment of the operated knee.
Objective: Obtaining an optimal knee skyline view is challenging due to inaccuracies in beam projection angles (BPAs) and soft tissue obscuring bony landmarks. This study aimed to assess the impact of BPA deviations on patellofemoral index measurements and assessed the anterior border of the proximal tibia as an anatomic landmark for guiding BPAs.
Materials And Methods: This retrospective study consisted of three parts.

Background: To overcome several disadvantages of conventional laminectomy for degenerative lumbar spinal stenosis (DLSS), several types of minimally invasive surgery have been developed. The purpose of the present study was to report the clinical and radiological mid-term outcomes of spinous process-splitting decompression (SPSD) for DLSS.
Methods: Seventy-three consecutive patients underwent SPSD between September 2014 and March 2016.

We report three additional cases of intra-articular acetabular osteochondroma in multiple hereditary exostoses patients in order to raise the awareness of this rare location, to prompt early diagnosis, and to present various treatment options according to the patient's condition. A 2.5-year-old boy presenting with an out-toeing gait had a large acetabular osteochondroma causing lateral displacement of the femoral head and acetabular dysplasia.

Methods: A retrospective analysis was performed for all consecutive patients who underwent surgery for lumbar PS between November 2004 and June 2020 at a single institution. The patients were divided into two groups based on the outcomes: good and adverse (treatment failure, relapse, or death).
Background/aims: Gastric varices (GVs) are a major cause of upper gastrointestinal bleeding in patients with liver cirrhosis. The current treatments of choice are balloon-occluded retrograde transvenous obliteration (BRTO) and the placement of a transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt (TIPS). We aimed to compare the efficacy and outcomes of these two methods for the management of GV bleeding.
