Purpose: Aim was to investigate relationship of gender and training experience with post-occlusive hyperemia (PORH) and answer how differences between men and women and their training status led to differences in vascular responses after occlusions.
Methods: This prospective experimental study included 80 healthy volunteers divided into four groups of 20: trained men, trained women, non-training women, and non-training men. The occlusion intervention on the dominant thigh was performed.
This study examined the effects of a 10-week functional balance training program using unstable surfaces on dynamic postural control, lower-limb power, and technical shooting performance in adolescent male basketball players. Twenty-one participants were assigned to an experimental group (n = 11; age 16.14 ± 1.

Improved understanding of tradeoffs and patient preferences in treatment decisions will enhance patient-provider discussions, improve treatment development, and inform HCC treatment guidelines. We performed a qualitative study involving patients with HCC and medical providers to assess the role of patient preferences in HCC treatment choices.

We aimed to assess (i) trends in rural vs urban HCC-related mortality and (ii) differences in underlying chronic liver disease etiologies contributing to HCC-related deaths.
Methods: We used the National Vital Statistics System to examine crude and age-adjusted HCC death rates overall and by etiology for rural and urban residents from 2005 to 2023.

Prevention, recognition, and staging of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) rely primarily on abdominal imaging. Treatment of HCC varies widely based on tumor stage, lymph node involvement, and metastatic disease along with the patient's functional status. We present an unusual case of isolated extrahepatic HCC metastasis involving a solitary lesion in the pelvis, with no other evidence of viable intrahepatic or extrahepatic disease.

Introduction: Basketball is a fast-paced intermittent team sport, wherein the players must exhibit different morphologies and fitness levels depending on their position. The aim of this study was to assess the differences in the athleticism of basketball players by playing positions and in its relations with body composition and anthropometric measures. It was hypothesized that calculated athleticism has stronger and better predictive relations with morphology compared to motoric tests alone.

Improved understanding on the potential benefits of first-line HE therapies may aid patient-provider discussions regarding expected benefits of HE treatments. We aimed to perform a systematic review to assess the effects of lactulose and rifaximin on patient-reported outcomes (PROs).

This study aimed to evaluate the associations between PF, participation and achievement in physical education (PE), out-of-school participation in sports, and PL in high school adolescents from Croatia. Participants were 298 high school students aged 14−18 years (191 females).
