Purpose: To synthesize the pooled estimate of the overall incidence of social frailty (SF) and pre-frailty, as well as the prevalence of SF based on sex, country, participant type, and assessment tool used.
Method: This systematic review and meta-analysis incorporated data from inception to December 2021 using six databases: PubMed, Embase, MEDLINE, CINAHL Plus, PsycINFO, and Cochrane Library. In addition to using a comprehensive set of medical subject headings and text phrases in Chinese and English, additional research was manually retrieved from reference lists.
BackgroundThis discussion paper provides a reflection on ethical aspects of participant recruitment experiences during one research (PhD) project in the Republic of Ireland (ROI). Using Gibbs' framework for reflection, this paper examines these experiences. The research (PhD) project that informed this reflection aimed to understand the experiences of family caregivers when caring for family members at the end of their life, through recorded interviews in the home, within the context of palliative care provision.

Methods: A cross-sectional study was implemented to collect data from 443 old HF patients from three tertiary hospitals based on convenient sampling. The measurement tools included a general information questionnaire, the Social Frailty Scale, the 10-item Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale, the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale, and the Minnesota Living with Heart Failure Questionnaire.
Aim: To determine whether there are differences in patterns of symptom severity in three major ACS symptoms (i.e., chest pain, fatigue, and dyspnoea) over the days of CCU stay between patients with higher and lower levels of perceived control.

Objectives: This scoping review aimed to identify existing literature on the application of augmented reality (AR) in the intensive care unit (ICU) and analyse its current state of play regarding hands-on skills.
Background: Active learner engagement can greatly enrich educational outcomes. With the rise of immersive and interactive technologies, AR is progressively integrated into nursing education to enhance this aspect.
Aim: To synthesise how ED crowding contributes to patient-initiated violence against emergency nurses.
Design: Framework synthesis.
Data Sources: A systematic literature search was conducted in the PubMed, PsycINFO, CINAHL and Scopus databases, covering articles up to 21 March 2024.
Aim: To explore healthcare workers' experiences of end of life care for people with an intellectual disability.
Design: A descriptive qualitative study.
Method: Semi-structured interviews were conducted with 28 healthcare workers who cared for older people with an intellectual disability at their end of life.
Aim: This scoping review aims to explore the existing research on the impact of authentic leadership on nurses' innovative behaviours.
Data Sources: The following databases were searched (from 2013 to 2023): PubMed, Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature, Cochrane Library, Embase, Scopus, APA Psych Info, Educational Resources Information Centre, and ABI Inform.
Review Methods: Search results were exported into Covidence software to assist with the selection and assessment of retrieved studies.
Background: Pre-hospital emergency nurses, frequently exposed to high-stress situations, are at risk for burnout and stress-related issues, affecting their overall well-being. The Professional Quality of Life (ProQoL) scale, widely used among hospital nurses, remains untested in pre-hospital emergency settings.
Aim: To adapt and validate the ProQoL scale for pre-hospital emergency contexts and explore the protective role of emotional intelligence in professional well-being.
Aim: To report an analysis of the concept of authentic leadership.
Design: Concept analysis.
Data Sources: Data sources included core databases: CINAHL, PubMed, Embase, ProQuest, APA PsycINFO, ERIC, ABI/Inform and Tomlinson's Nursing Core Collection (2010).

Background: Delirium is an acute and fluctuating disturbance of cognition and is a common occurrence in critically ill patients. It is a manifestation of an acute brain dysfunction often attributed to higher survival rates and a subsequently aging population. Intensive Care Unit (ICU) treatment and survival often contributes towards development of delirium, and lack of or inappropriate management can translate into the development of long-term psychological effects that last even after discharge.
