To address the high cost of cobalt in rare-earth hydrogen storage alloys, this study developed cost-effective low-cobalt and cobalt-free AB-type alloys. The results demonstrate that all synthesized alloys displayed a single-phase LaNi structure possessing a homogeneous elemental distribution. Low-cobalt (La, Ce) (Ni, Co, Mn, Al) alloy 4SC and cobalt-free (La, Ce) (Ni, Mn, Al) alloy 7D exhibited similarly excellent electrochemical performance, including high discharge capacity, long cycle life, and superior high-rate discharge () capability.

Microbially induced calcium carbonate precipitation (MICP) has emerged as a promising technique for environmental remediation, particularly for heavy metal removal. This study explores the potential of MICP for Cr(iii) removal, analyzing the effects of temperature, pH, calcium source addition, and initial Cr(iii) concentration on removal efficiency. The results show that Cr(iii) can be efficiently removed with a removal rate approaching 100% under optimal conditions (25 °C, pH 7.

Both exogenous gaseous and liquid forms of formaldehyde (FA) can induce depressive-like behaviors in both animals and humans. Stress and neuronal excitation can elicit brain FA generation. However, whether endogenous FA participates in depression occurrence remains largely unknown.

Objective: To study the changes in morphology of liver and spleen and hemodynamics of the patients with Budd-Chiari syndrome (BCS) after interventional treatment.

Methods: The dimensions of liver and spleen were detected by routine ultrasonography in 30 normal control subjects and 256 BCS patients before and after inventional therapy. Color duplex sonography was employed to measure the hemodynamic changes.
