Background: Opioid-free analgesia is critical in pediatric patients with complex comorbidities to avoid adverse effects, such as respiratory depression. Patients with tethered cord syndrome (TCS), often presenting with conditions like spina bifida, renal impairment, and musculoskeletal deformities, pose unique perioperative challenges that demand alternative pain management strategies.
Case: We present the case of an 11-year-old male with spina bifida and chronic kidney disease (CKD) undergoing tethered cord release surgery.
Purpose: Effective postoperative analgesia management is critical for optimizing recovery and patient satisfaction following lumbar discectomy. Erector Spinae Plane Block (ESPB) is an established regional anesthesia technique with proven efficacy, while the novel Quadro-Iliac Plane Block (QIPB) has shown promise as an alternative approach. This study compares the analgesic efficacy, opioid-sparing potential, and safety of ESPB and QIPB in single-level lumbar discectomies.

Effective postoperative pain management is crucial to prevent respiratory complications and optimize recovery. We present a 12-kg, 1-year-old patient undergoing right lobectomy for CCLM, where Serratus Posterior Superior Intercostal Plane Block (SPSIPB) was used as part of multimodal analgesia.

Methods: This prospective, randomized, double-blind study was conducted with 60 male patients, aged 1 to 7 years, who underwent lower abdominal surgery and circumcision concurrently. The patients were randomized into 2 groups: ESP and CB.
Postoperative pain management is crucial for enhancing recovery and minimizing complications after spinal tumor resections. This case series evaluates the serratus posterior superior intercostal plane (SPSIP) block for postoperative analgesia in 2 patients undergoing thoracic spinal tumor surgeries. Bilateral SPSIP blocks were performed under ultrasound guidance, providing analgesia that specifically covered the levels where the tumor resection was performed.

The Quadroiliac Plane Block (QIPB) offers an effective alternative. A 43-year-old female with base of tongue cancer underwent retrograde intrarenal surgery (RIRS) under spinal anesthesia.

Interpretation requires a high level of expertise, potentially leading to variability in accuracy. This study explores the feasibility and accuracy of ChatGPT-4, an AI-based model, in interpreting ABG results compared to experienced anesthesiologists.

Background: This study evaluated the effectiveness of large language models (LLMs), specifically ChatGPT 4o and a custom-designed model, Meta-Analysis Librarian, in generating accurate search strings for systematic reviews (SRs) in the field of anesthesiology.
Methods: We selected 85 SRs from the top 10 anesthesiology journals, according to Web of Science rankings, and extracted reference lists as benchmarks. Using study titles as input, we generated four search strings per SR: three with ChatGPT 4o using general prompts and one with the Meta-Analysis Librarian model, which follows a structured, Population, Intervention, Comparator, Outcome-based approach aligned with Cochrane Handbook standards.

Background: This study aims to identify the factors influencing 30-day morbidity and mortality in patients aged 65 and older undergoing cardiovascular surgery.
Methods: Data from 360 patients who underwent cardiac surgery between January 2012 and August 2021 in the Cardiovascular Surgery Intensive Care Unit (CVS ICU) were analyzed. Patients were categorized into two groups: "mortality+" (33 patients) and "mortality-" (327 patients).
Background: This study investigates the potential of ChatGPT-4, developed by OpenAI, in enhancing medical decision-making processes, particularly in preoperative assessments using the American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) scoring system. The ASA score, a critical tool in evaluating patients' health status and anesthesia risks before surgery, categorizes patients from I to VI based on their overall health and risk factors. Despite its widespread use, determining accurate ASA scores remains a subjective process that may benefit from AI-supported assessments.

Methods: It was a retrospective study in a tertiary-care center. Twenty-eight pediatric supracondylar humerus fracture patients who underwent elective surgery for fracture repair were evaluated.
Over the last decade, YouTube has become one of the largest online resources for medical information. However, uploaded videos are published without any peer review or quality control, so incorrect and incomplete information can be easily disseminated via the virtual platform and can be perceived as correct. The YouTube website was searched for videos in English uploaded between 15 October 2015 and 21 October 2016 using the following keywords: "CPR," "cardiopulmonary resuscitation," and "basic life support.
