Objective: There is wide variability in the prevalence of orofacial clefts at birth across geographic locations. The study aimed to quantify the prevalence of orofacial clefts and provide demographic details of the individuals identified with an orofacial cleft in South Australia.

Design: The South Australian Birth Defects Register (SABDR) data was used to identify individuals born in South Australia with any orofacial cleft including cleft lip (CL), cleft lip and palate (CL + P), cleft palate (CP), cleft uvula (CU) and facial clefts (FC) between 1986 and 2019.

This case report aimed to describe a digital workflow from 3D virtual surgical planning for tumor resection, maxillary implant placement, and an implant-retained prosthesis to fit the planned defect for immediate loading. A 68-year-old male was diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma of the anterior maxilla. Intraoral scans and computed tomographs were taken preoperatively to digitally design and print a surgical resection guide, an implant placement guide, and a prosthetic bridge for immediate placement.

Oculodentodigital dysplasia (ODDD) is a rare congenital disorder characterised by developmental abnormalities of the eye, dentition and digits of the hands and feet, with neurological symptoms reported in 30% of individuals. Dental anomalies associated with ODDD include enamel hypoplasia and subsequent caries, microdontia, missing teeth, amelogenesis imperfecta, pulp stones and delayed tooth development. Here, we describe the comprehensive dental management of a 3-year-old girl who presented with rapid deterioration of the primary dentition due to generalised enamel hypomineralisation.
