Background: Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is an autoimmune inflammatory condition that adversely affects health-related quality of life (HRQoL) by causing joint damage, pain, functional impairment, and fatigue.
Objectives: The aim of this study was to assess the impact of biological disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs (bDMARDs) on fatigue, functional disability, and HRQoL in an Egyptian cohort with RA.
Methods: This observational analytical prospective cohort study included RA patients who needed to start bDMARDs immediately after the enrolment visit at two Rheumatology and Immunology Units.
Background: Bovine mastitis (BM) is a costly disease in the dairy industry. It is associated with reduced milk production and changes in milk composition and quality. is the most important pathogen causing BM.

Methods: The Egyptian College of Rheumatology COVID-19 Study Group investigated physician-reported data (ECR-VaXurvey3) of RMD patients vaccinated against COVID-19 from December 2021 to June 2022, including their demographics, vaccination type, RMD diagnosis, treatments, post-vaccine flares, and other adverse events. The control group consisted of healthy, vaccinated individuals.

Background: Eating disorders (EDs) are a group of mental diseases marked by disrupted eating behaviors, and are associated with several factors. Medical students are highly exposed to this mental disorder with a prevalence of 17.35% in 2022.

So, this study investigates knowledge-sharing behavior and attitude among staff members of 19 Medical schools in Egyptian universities during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Methods: Across-sectional study was conducted using a web-based questionnaire.
Unlike other growth stages of wheat, very few studies on drought tolerance have been done at the seedling stage, and this is due to the complexity and sensitivity of this stage to drought stress resulting from climate change. As a result, the drought tolerance of wheat seedlings is poorly understood and very few genes associated with drought tolerance at this stage were identified. To address this challenge, a set of 172 spring wheat genotypes representing 20 different countries was evaluated under drought stress at the seedling stage.

Background And Aims: Musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) are commonly encountered in hemodialysis (HD) patients. However, the causes linked to these disorders are still partially defined. The aim of this study was to determine the frequency of MSDs and their relationship to a variety of clinico-social characteristics such as sleep quality, mood disorders, fatigue, and social support, in addition to the patients' clinical and therapeutic profile.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFPurpose: The aims of the study are to explore the prevalence and risk factors of anxiety and depression in hemodialysis (HD) patients and to study their relationship with quality of life (QOL).
Methods: This cross-sectional study involved 298 HD patients. Sociodemographic, clinical, and laboratory data of the patients were obtained from their records.
Background: Mortality due to head trauma is common in developed countries in all age groups. Nonmissile penetrating skull base injuries (PSBIs) due to foreign bodies are quite rare, accounting for about 0.4%.

The identification of factors affecting drought stress tolerance in the seedling stage is especially important to increase adaptation and accelerate the grain yield potential.

In this study, a set of 172 diverse spring wheat genotypes from 20 different countries were assessed under drought stress at the seedling stage. Besides seedling length, two types of traits were recorded, namely: tolerance traits (days to wilting, leaf wilting, and the sum of leaf wilting), and recovery traits (days to regrowth, regrowth biomass, and drought survival rate).

The present study investigated the expression and localization patterns of different AQP subtypes in the adult mouse testes and testicular spermatozoa using an immunofluorescence assay. All the studied AQPs were expressed in the testes and revealed subtype-specific patterns in the intensity and localization depending on the cell types of the testes.

Initially, a wide range of concentrations of these essential oils were screened in order to determine their toxicity levels. The assigned non‑toxic concentrations of the tested essential oils were then used to evaluate their effects on melanogenesis.

Aim: This study aimed to investigate the prevalence, profile, predictors, and response to WRMDs among Egyptian PTs.
Methods: A self-administrated questionnaire was distributed either manually or via e-mail to 564 PTs with at least two years of working experience.
Aim: The aim of this study was to assess the effect of three root canal irrigants on the apical sealing ability of three single-cone obturation systems.
Materials And Methods: One hundred maxillary central incisors were selected and their crowns were cut. The roots were divided into three experimental groups of 30 samples each, and one control group of 10 samples (5 positives and 5 negatives).

Although equal numbers of X and Y spermatozoa are produced during spermatogenesis, the sex chromosome ratio in ejaculated spermatozoa can be altered by exposure to endocrine-disrupting chemicals (EDCs), which can be reflected by altered sex ratios at birth. Here, we hypothesized EDCs affect sperm functions and viability of X and Y chromosome-bearing human spermatozoa. After exposure to genistein (Gen), bisphenol A (BPA), 2,3,7,8-tetrachlorodibenzo-p-dioxin (TCDD), dibromochloropropane (DBCP), and diazinon (Diaz), we evaluated motility, viability, capacitation, and differential viability of X and Y spermatozoa.

We hypothesized that the alteration of sex ratio is associated with sex chromosome ratio of live spermatozoa affected by exposure to TCDD. After exposure to TCDD we analyzed simultaneously sperm sex chromosome constitution and viability, and evaluated sperm sex chromosome ratio association with embryo sex ratio in mice.

Background: Pregnancy is associated with several cardiocirculatory changes that can significantly impact underlying cardiac disease. These changes include an increase in cardiac output, sodium, and water retention leading to blood volume expansion, and reductions in systemic vascular resistance and systemic blood pressure. In addition, pregnancy results in a hypercoagulable state that increases the risk of thromboembolic complications.

To predict the fertility of frozen-thawed bull spermatozoa, a sperm penetration assay (SPA) using zona-free hamster oocytes was optimized, and the assay results were compared with data from field fertility expressed as the non-return rate (NRR). To increase sperm penetration, the spermatozoa were pre-incubated and coincubated with oocytes in media containing various concentrations of heparin (0 to 50 μg/ml). Coincubation with 10 μg/ml heparin showed the highest sperm penetration (P<0.
