Background: Non-syndromic orofacial clefts (NSOFCs) are one of the common congenital malformations in Vietnam, with 1.4 per 1000 live births, with notable sex differences in occurrence. This case-control study aims to investigate potential sex-specific interactions of and polymorphisms across NSOFC subtypes in a Vietnamese population.

In addition to biological investigations of quorum sensing mechanisms, substantial efforts have been made towards the rational design, synthesis, identification of natural products, and screening of commercial drugs towards this target. There are several individual reviews on the discovery of quorum sensing inhibitors; however, there has yet to be a comprehensive, detailed, and critical review providing a complete overview of the development of novel quorum sensing inhibitors, ranging from natural compounds, peptides, and repurposed drugs to synthetic molecules.

A comprehensive search was conducted in PubMed, Scopus, and the Cochrane Library, covering studies from 2012 to 2022. Inclusion criteria targeted clinical studies with a minimum follow-up of 6 months.

The functional component of the device is a ramp that guides the mandible along its habitual arc of closure and then directs it to slide forward into the required position. Traditionally, impressions could not capture the closing path, leading to significant chair time during appliance insertion, as the ramp had to be manually adjusted.

Objective: This study aimed to investigate the genetic landscape of CMT in Vietnam to guide the development of cost-effective diagnostic algorithms for patients with suspected genetic neuropathies.
Methods: We recruited 44 patients with a diagnosis of CMT from three tertiary centers between March 2021 and December 2023 and recorded their clinical and electrophysiological characteristics.

: Cardiomyopathy, including dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM) and hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM), is a major cause of heart failure (HF) and a leading indication for heart transplantation. Of these patients, 20-50% have a genetic cause, so understanding the genetic basis of cardiomyopathy will provide knowledge about the pathogenesis of the disease for diagnosis, treatment, prevention, and genetic counseling for families. : This study collected nine patients from different Vietnamese families for genetic analysis at The Cardiovascular Center, E Hospital, Hanoi, Vietnam.

Neurogenic thoracic outlet syndrome (NTOS) is characterized by the compression of the brachial plexus in the thoracic outlet region, caused by various etiologies. We report a case with clinical symptoms and imaging findings from ultrasound and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of NTOS due to an elongated C7 transverse process and a fibrous band of the middle scalene muscle, which was confirmed in decompression surgery.

In this paper, we propose a new dataset designed specifically for image captioning in gingivitis diagnosis using deep learning. It includes 1,096 high-resolution intraoral images of 12 anterior teeth and surrounding gingival tissue that were collected under controlled conditions with professional-grade photography equipment.

Aggressive angiomyxoma (AAM) is a rare benign tumor that arises from connective tissue, prominently located in the vulva, vagina, perineum, and pelvis and is mainly found in women aged about 20-40 years old. Giant intraabdominal tumors have rarely been described. These tumors develop slowly over time and are often difficult to diagnose due to various clinical findings, especially in the early stages.

The study was conducted on 88 patients who underwent PAE to treat BPH from January 2022 to November 2023. Of these, 38 patients who had PAE without DECT were placed in group 1, while the other 50 patients with pre-interventional DECT were assigned to group 2.

The main causes of biliary bleeding are invasive procedures in treatment, trauma, or malignant diseases. Chronic obstruction of the biliary tract can cause inflammation, erosion, and leakage of adjacent vascular structures and lead to pseudoaneurysm or hemorrhage, but this is very rare.

The vast majority of synovial sarcomas are present in the extremities, with only 15% developing in the retroperitoneal space. Retroperitoneal synovial sarcoma (RSS) is an infrequent case of SS, with only about 20 cases reported in the literature.

The possible pathogenic mechanisms of IS include distal embolic occlusion secondary to migration of the intra-aneurysmal thrombus, occlusion of the parent artery lumen caused by the retrograde extension of the aneurysmal thrombosis, external compression of the parent artery due to the increased aneurysmal mass effect. Among these, IS due to simultaneous thromboses of the aneurysm and its parent artery is extremely rare, with only a few cases reported in the literature.

In this article, we aimed to report a case of a 58-year-old male who had clinical symptoms, electromyographic, ultrasound, and MRI features suggestive of PINs due to compressing the arcade of Frohse. He subsequently underwent surgical correlation at our hospital, and the clinical symptoms were improved significantly.

Accurate assessment of stone location, stone morphology, degree of hydronephrosis as well as urinary system abnormalities is extremely important in the percutaneous nephrolithotomy strategy.
Objective: The aim of this study was to evaluate the S.
In median arcuate ligament syndrome (MALS), the median arcuate ligament compresses the celiac trunk and surrounding nerves leading to chronic functional abdominal pain and vague gastrointestinal symptoms. MALS can be effectively treated by dividing the arcuate ligament through open surgery or laparoscopy. This is a rare vascular condition and mostly encountered in adult patients.

Although this tumor has been found in other locations in the body such as the head and neck region, retroperitoneal space, and intra-abdominal omentum, SFT of the gallbladder remains extremely rare in the medical literature. In this article, we present the imaging characteristics of Computed Tomography (CT) and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) of gallbladder SFT, thereby contributing to providing information in the study of this rare pathology.
