Background: Stereotactic hematoma aspiration surgery was introduced to mitigate the mass effect and subsequent secondary injuries caused by spontaneous intracerebral hemorrhage (sICH) in the basal ganglia. This study posited that the supraorbital keyhole (SOK) route, along with its longer axial trajectory, may achieve improved hematoma aspiration rates and functional outcomes compared with the traditional Kocher's point (KP) route for the evacuation of hematomas in the basal ganglia.

Ischemic stroke (IS) remains a leading cause of mortality and long-term disability worldwide, with limited therapeutic options available. Despite the success of early interventions, such as tissue-type plasminogen activator administration and mechanical thrombectomy, many patients continue to experience persistent neurological deficits. We demonstrate flexible transmissive structural color filters with enhanced color purity and brightness by exploiting resonance overlap within multiple cavities in penta-layered structures. Using an inverse design method that combines optimization and exhaustive search algorithms, the material choices and layer thicknesses are determined through a loss function based on the CIE XYZ color space, optimizing both color purity and brightness. The resulting color gamut is comparable to standard RGB, as assessed in the CIE xy color space, with luminance (Y from CIE 1931 model) values for the fabricated transmissive RGB colors being 0.

Organic fluorescent crystals were obtained using single-benzene-based diethyl 2,5-dihydroxyterephthalate (DDT) molecules through crystallization from a droplet of the DDT solution on an Au substrate. To control the size of the DDT crystals, the surface energy of the Au substrate was modified with air plasma treatment, producing a hydrophilic surface and a hydrophobic self-assembled monolayer (SAM) coating. The size of DDT crystals increased as the surface energy of the substrate decreased.

Herein, we develop colorimetric multigas sensor arrays assembling chemo-reactive fluorescent patch arrays and 10 × 10 indium gallium zinc oxide phototransistor arrays and apply them to an artificial olfactory platform to recognize five different volatile organic compounds (VOCs). Porous nanofibers, coupled with two organic emitters and emitting fluorescence, rapidly respond to gas-phased VOCs and offer unique fluorescent patterns associated with particular gas conditions, including gas kinds, concentrations, and exposure times by forming patch arrays with different fluorophore component ratios. These VOC-induced fluorescent patterns could be quantified and amplified by indium gallium zinc oxide (IGZO) phototransistor arrays functioning as a signal-generating component, resulting in gas-fingerprint patterns regarding electrical signals.
