Women with autoimmune rheumatic diseases (ARDs) face increased risks of infertility, yet fertility-related knowledge among physicians remains underexplored. We aimed to evaluate fertility and infertility knowledge among physicians treating women with rheumatic diseases, using the validated Fertility and Infertility Treatment Knowledge Score (FIT-KS). A cross-sectional web-based study was conducted among 102 physicians across different specialties in Mexico involved in the care of women with ARDs.

Objective: We aimed to describe the frequency of intimate partner violence (IPV) in reproductive-age women and pregnant-postpartum women with autoimmune rheumatic diseases (ARDs) and compare it with those without ARDs (controls).
Methods: A descriptive, cross-sectional, and comparative study was conducted among pregnant-postpartum patients and reproductive-age women (18-45 years) with and without ARDs who attended the Hospital Universitario in Monterrey, Mexico, and answered the survey Hurt-Insult-Threaten-Scream (HITS) scale in the validated Spanish version, from June 2023 to May 2024.
Results: A total of 120 women were included: 60 with ARDs and 60 controls.
Objective: To determine the relationship between Nail Psoriasis Severity Index (NAPSI) and cardiovascular risk (CVR) assessed by 10 CVR calculators.
Methods: Cross-sectional, observational, and comparative study of psoriatic arthritis (PsA) patients aged 30-75, classified according to established diagnostic criteria. The NAPSI was assessed, classifying patients into two groups: with (≥ 1) and without (< 1) nail involvement.
Introduction: Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is a multisystem autoimmune disease that damages multiple target organs, including the ear. This study aims to determine the prevalence of hearing loss in patients with a confirmed diagnosis of SLE compared to controls and to assess frequency-specific hearing thresholds using extended audiometry (500 to 16,000 Hz).
Methods: This comparative cross-sectional study included 75 patients diagnosed with SLE and 150 matched control subjects.

Generalized pustular psoriasis (GPP) is a potentially life-threatening rare immune-mediated disease characterized by rapid onset of erythematous plaques, sterile pustules and systemic inflammation. Spesolimab, a monoclonal antibody targeting the interleukin-36 receptor, is a novel treatment for GPP. However, GPP's low incidence and limited evidence relating to treatment with spesolimab represents a challenge in determining its real-world efficacy.

Objective: Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD) is a severe form of premenstrual syndrome that profoundly impacts daily functioning and quality of life. Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic inflammatory disease primarily affecting joints and may also influence mental health, potentially increasing the risk of PMDD. This study aims to assess the prevalence and severity of PMDD in women with RA compared with the general population.

Objective: Patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) experience higher cardiovascular risk. Methotrexate may decrease this risk, although it is unclear whether males and females similarly benefit. We explored the influence of sex on the effect of methotrexate use on cardiovascular risk in RA.

While prior studies have largely focused on populations in high-income countries or specialized clinics, there is limited evidence addressing the reproductive health behaviors and challenges in middle-income settings, where disparities in health care access and counseling are pronounced. This study aims to assess reproductive health knowledge, contraceptive use, and pregnancy planning among Mexican women with ARDs, identifying specific areas for improvement in education and counseling to bridge these gaps.

Objectives: The impact of body mass index (BMI) on cardiovascular risk in rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is unclear. RA characteristics may influence the association between BMI and risk. Disease activity, which predicts cardiovascular risk, is associated with obesity only among anticitrullinated antibody (ACPA)-positive patients.

Objective: The aim of this study was to determine the prevalence of cardiovascular risk factors and comorbidities in a cohort of Mexican Mestizo rheumatoid arthritis (RA) patients.
Methods: We performed an observational and cross-sectional study involving the RA cohort of our Cardio-Rheumatology Clinic in a teaching hospital. The cohort includes patients aged 40-75 years old who fulfilled the ACR/EULAR classification criteria for RA, patients were recruited from August 2014 to July 2023.

Objectives: To explore the experiences and perspectives of female patients with autoimmune rheumatic diseases (ARDs) regarding sexual and reproductive health, including contraception, family planning, and pregnancy.
Design: Qualitative descriptive study using semi-structured interviews.
Setting: Specialised rheumatology clinic in a tertiary hospital in Monterrey, Mexico.
Purpose: The study aims to compare dry eye disease (DED) prevalence and severity between seropositive and seronegative Sjögren disease (SjD).
Methods: Prospective, consecutive, comparative cross-sectional cohort study. A total of 160 eyes of 80 patients with SjD by The American College of Rheumatology and the European League Against Rheumatism 2016 criteria were included: 55 seropositive and 25 seronegative SjD.

Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic inflammatory disease with a prevalence of 1%, mainly affecting women aged 25-45. It is classified by the age of onset into young-onset rheumatoid arthritis (YORA, 16-65 years) and elderly-onset rheumatoid arthritis (EORA, over 65 years), with EORA often presenting suddenly with systemic symptoms and large joint involvement due to age-related immune changes. This systematic review and meta-analysis compare the clinical and epidemiological characteristics of EORA and YORA.

The American College of Cardiology/American Heart Association introduced the Predicting Risk of Cardiovascular EVENTs (PREVENT™) algorithm to estimate the 10-year risk of developing cardiovascular disease. We aimed to assess the cardiovascular risk (CVR) reclassification among rheumatoid arthritis (RA) patients using traditional CVR algorithms-the 2024 PREVENT™ and the 2013 Atherosclerotic Cardiovascular Disease (ASCVD)-and the presence of carotid plaque (CP). This was a cross-sectional study nested of a RA patients' cohort.

Objectives: Chronic inflammation promotes cardiovascular risk in rheumatoid arthritis (RA). Biological disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs (bDMARDs) improve disease activity and cardiovascular disease outcomes. We explored whether bDMARDs influence the impact of disease activity and inflammatory markers on long-term cardiovascular risk in RA.

Sexual dysfunction (SD) has been associated with worse quality of life and higher disease activity in patients with rheumatic diseases, yet it is still not regularly addressed during routine rheumatologic evaluations. This study aimed to determine the prevalence of sexual dysfunction in patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) or systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and evaluate their perception of their sexual health. We performed a retrospective study in an outpatient rheumatology clinic to evaluate patients over 18 years old with a diagnosis of RA or SLE through the Spanish version of the Arizona Sexual Experiences Scale (ASEX) and the Sexual Health Perception Survey (SHEPS), a questionnaire of 6 items designed in our clinic.
