CAPOX vs. FOLFOX for Colorectal Cancer-Real World Outcomes in Ontario, Canada.

CAPOX and FOLFOX are widely used chemotherapy regimens for colorectal cancer (CRC). The superiority of one regimen over the other in a real-world setting (RWE) could have significant clinical implications given their common use, but such RWE is limited. This study analyzed provincial database records of 13,461 Canadian patients treated from 2005 to 2017.

Understanding patient perspectives in the management of their muscle-invasive bladder cancer.

Objectives: To evaluate the impact of advocacy efforts by organisations such as the Bladder Cancer Advocacy Network (BCAN) to increase awareness about the signs, symptoms, diagnosis, treatment and need for a multidisciplinary approach to the care of patients with muscle-invasive bladder cancer (MIBC).

Materials And Methods: We developed a 32-question survey with input from physicians, nurses, patients and caregivers. The survey was posted on the BCAN website between August 2013 and September 2014 (Cohort A) and again between June 2023 and April 2024 (Cohort B).

Diagnosis and Management of Skin Toxicities in Systemic Treatment of Genitourinary Cancers.

The landscape of available therapeutic options for treatment of genitourinary (GU) cancers is expanding dramatically. Many of these treatments have distinct, sometimes severe, skin toxicities including morbilliform, bullous, pustular, lichenoid, eczematous, psoriasiform, and palmoplantar eruptions. Pruritus and skin pigmentation changes have also been noted.

What Attributes Matter Most in Physicians? Exploratory Findings from a Single-Centre Survey of Stakeholder Priorities in Cancer Care at a Canadian Academic Cancer Centre.

Background: Limited research exists regarding how healthcare stakeholders prioritize the importance of differing physician attributes in oncologists. Identifying these priorities can help ensure that Canadian cancer care continues to meet the needs of its patients. In our previous research, compassion and empathy were identified as important physician attributes, with answers like knowledge, professionalism or communication less common.
