Introduction: Treatment intensification with androgen receptor signaling inhibitors and/or chemotherapy is guideline recommended for patients with de novo metastatic hormone-sensitive prostate cancer (mHSPC). However, most patients only receive androgen deprivation therapy monotherapy. The aim was to identify physician-, patient-, and tumor-related factors associated with the receipt of treatment intensification.

Methods: A retrospective chart review was undertaken on patients undergoing radical nephrectomy at our institution between 2005 and 2023. Patients identified with intravascular (vena cava) extension were included.
Prostatic stents offer a minimally invasive alternative for the management of benign prostatic obstruction. Efficacy has been demonstrated for stents that have already been approved, and investigational stents show promise. Long-term safety, durability, and patient selection are key factors for widespread adoption.

Objectives: The purpose of this study was to investigate the predictors of in-hospital mortality of patients with emphysematous pyelonephritis (EP) by type of management.
Methods: Retrospective data were collected on 176 patients with EP who had undergone treatment at our hospital between 2011 and 2019. Data collected included demographic characteristics, clinical presentations, management strategies, and survival rates.
Introduction: Prior research in the U.S. suggests that marginalized populations tend to undergo pyeloplasty earlier, likely reflecting concerns about the challenges of reliable followup care in this population.

Management options for men with TGCTs include surgery, radiation and/or chemotherapy. Given TGCTs' excellent survival, most patients live long enough to experience delayed treatment toxicities, warranting careful consideration of therapeutic decisions.

This study assessed medical students' confidence in managing common urologic conditions, identified preferred teaching methods, and examined the role of the Canadian Undergraduate Urological Curriculum (CanUUC) in their education.
Methods: A survey was distributed to third- and fourth-year Canadian medical students, assessing their self-confidence in history taking, diagnosis, management planning, and physical examination for 12 urologic conditions.
Introduction: This study aims to characterize payments by drug and medical device manufacturers to current program directors (PDs) of the Society of Urologic Oncology (SUO)-accredited fellowship programs in the United States.
Methods: PDs were identified from SUO fellowship websites as of February 2024. Demographic data, educational background, and scholarly metrics were collected through an online search.
Introduction: Artificial intelligence (AI) is increasingly being applied across pediatric urology. We provide a living scoping review and online repository developed by the AI in PEDiatric UROlogy (AI-PEDURO) collaborative that summarizes the current and emerging evidence on the AI models developed in pediatric urology.
Material And Methods: The protocol was published a priori, and Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Review and Meta-analysis Scoping Review (PRISMA-ScR) guidelines were followed.

Introduction: Exploring all surgical interventions for benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) can be time-consuming. We developed the first online CUA-endorsed BPH surgical Patient Decision Aid (PtDA), including all guideline-approved surgical modalities. Our study assesses the acceptability of the tool's French version (FRv) among patients and urologists.

We sought to investigate the association of HR-ADRs with selective T1a blockers and identify at-risk groups.
Methods: We used disproportionality analysis to detect signals of HR-ADRs (dizziness, fainting, falls, and fractures) reported with selective T1a blocker use (tamsulosin and silodosin) in VigiBase, a global database of individual case safety reports.
Introduction: In 2018, competency-based medical education (CBME) was introduced to Canadian urology residency training. We examined learner and faculty experiences with CBME five years post-implementation.
Methods: Two online surveys were developed from a scoping review of CBME literature and expert consultation.
Background: Intraductal carcinoma (IDC) and cribriform pattern (Crib) of prostate cancer are recognised as independent prognosticators of poor outcome, both in prostate biopsies and radical prostatectomy (RP) specimens.
Objective: This study aimed to determine the predictive value of Free-to-total PSA ratio (FPSAR) in identifying missed IDC/Crib at the time of biopsy as compared to the final surgical specimen.
Materials And Methods: Patients who underwent RP between January 2015 and December 2022 were included in the study.
Background: Historically, Asia had a lower prostate cancer (PCa) incidence and mortality compared with Western countries, but the gap is narrowing. Paradoxically, Asians have been reported to present with more advanced disease though more favorable outcomes. Despite PCa becoming an emerging health priority in East Asia, our knowledge remains limited.

Methods: The Waterjet Ablation Therapy for Endoscopic Resection of Prostate Tissue (WATER; NCT02505919) is a prospective, double-blind, international clinical trial encompassing 116 patients, examining Aquablation versus transurethral resection of the prostate (TURP) for LUTS/BPH in prostates sized between 30 and 80 cm. In parallel, WATER II (W-II; NCT03123250), a prospective, multicentre, single-arm international clinical trial, explores Aquablation outcomes in prostates ranging from 80 to 150 cm.
Introduction: Urologists face challenges in obtaining public research funding, leading to increasing reliance on the industry for research support. This study aimed to examine the extent and trends in industry-sponsored research payments to urologists from 2014 to 2022 in the United States.
Methods: We identified all US urologists using the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services National Plan and Provider Enumeration System database and extracted their industry-sponsored research payments data from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services Open Payments Database.
