Aims: To identify the pain assessment scales with the best psychometric properties to be used by nurses in an inpatient setting.

Design: Umbrella review.

Methods: A comprehensive search of four databases was conducted for systematic reviews published from July 2013 to November 2024, focusing on psychometric properties of pain scales used in inpatient settings.

Caspofungin for Primary Antifungal Prophylaxis in Acute Myeloid Leukemia: A Real-Life Study from an Academic Center.

Invasive fungal infections (IFIs) are a major complication in patients with acute myeloid leukemia (AML), particularly during chemotherapy-induced neutropenia. Posaconazole is the standard drug for primary antifungal prophylaxis (PAP), but its use is limited by oral bioavailability and CYP3A4 interactions. This study aims to evaluate the clinical efficacy and safety of intravenous caspofungin versus oral posaconazole as PAP in AML patients during their first cycle of chemotherapy and assess their subsequent impact on clinical outcomes.

Italian EBP Beliefs Scales: A Psychometric Validation Study.

Background: Evidence-based practice (EBP) is essential for clinical decision-making, integrating the best available evidence, clinical expertise, and stakeholder values. In Italy, interest in EBP is growing, and a key step in its promotion is adopting tools to assess nurses' beliefs and behaviors toward EBP. While the EBP Beliefs Scale has been translated and validated in multiple languages, it has yet to be adapted for the Italian context.

Effectiveness of transitional care interventions in patients with serious illness and their caregivers: a systematic review and metanalysis of randomized controlled trial.

Background: Patients with serious illnesses require continuous care from professionals in multiple settings. The care transition interventions aim to promote the safe and timely transfer of patient care across settings through several components including discharge planning, post-discharge communication, and patient/caregiver education on self-management. Despite the reported evidence on transitional care interventions, little is known about their effectiveness for seriously ill patients and their caregivers and for those receiving or needing palliative care.

The primary aim of this study was to analyze the knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors regarding the use of NSAIDs simultaneously in one of the largest and most populated areas of Italy, Naples.

Methods: From 2021 December 14th to 2022 January 4th, a cross-sectional survey study was conducted among community centers, working places, and universities using a snowball sampling method.

The aim of this study was to examine the independent associations between sociodemographic and clinical factors, self-care, and quality of life in this specific population. We undertook a 3-year multicenter longitudinal study on a cohort of Italian postmenopausal osteoporotic women with three follow-ups at 1, 3, and 6 months.

These aspects should be determined by patient needs and preferences, but they are often associated to patient sociodemographic or contextual characteristics. The aim of this study was to describe which factors are associated with utilizing SPCSs in terms of place of death and disenrollment.
