Increasingly, this is achieved via metal-conjugated probes in conjunction with elemental mass spectrometry imaging (MSI). This targeted technique is capable of simultaneously imaging up to 40 analytes, in comparison to the traditional bioimaging techniques that use fluorescent or chromogenic reagents that are typically restricted to less than four analytes without complex sample handling and analysis workflows.

Due to the low throughput and high cost of the most used respirometer, the Oroboros 2k (O2k), multiple experiments are often conducted within the same chamber in short succession. Despite this, no methodological consideration has been given for the potential contamination of inhibitors, used to investigate the contribution of specific complexes within the electron transport chain, between experiments.

Violent injuries tend to cluster together geospatially. The discriminatory housing practice of redlining undertaken by the United States federal government in the 1930s has been repeatedly linked with various contemporary community-level disparities. However, no known work has explored the association between historical redlining and the risk of violent injuries among adolescents.
