Mn-doped MgGeO (MMGO) is a near-infrared-emitting persistent luminescence (PersL) phosphor. Its low luminescence decay has been linked to vacancies within the MgGeO host, likely associated with Ge, although no direct correlations have been confirmed. In this study, the Ge K-edge X-ray absorption fine structure (XAFS) spectroscopy is employed to investigate a series of MMGO submicron-sized particles with varying afterglow durations.

The Morning Report section seeks to carry on this tradition by presenting a patient's chief concern and story, inviting the reader to develop a differential diagnosis and discover the diagnosis alongside the authors of the case. This report examines the story of a 47-year-old woman who presented with pain in the left shoulder, fevers, and fatigue.

Nerve conduction studies were consistent with a demyelinating process. Spinal imaging showed cervical spondylotic myelopathy, and urgent surgical nerve decompression was performed.

Although normalizing LV mass (LVM) to height exponents reduced variability from body size, specific recommendations for height exponents are lacking due to a scarcity of normal cohorts to define appropriate height exponents.
Objectives: The authors aimed to show the diagnostic and prognostic implications of establishing height exponents specific to sex, ethnicity, and imaging modality.

Near-infrared persistent luminescence (PersL) nanoparticles (NPs) have great potential in biomedical applications due to their ability to continuously emit tissue-penetrating light. Despite numerous reports on the distribution, biological safety and other consequences of PersL NPs in vitro and in vivo, there has been a lack of studies on the optical properties of these NPs in the physiological environment. In light of this, we investigated the effects of short-term immersion of the prominent Cr-doped ZnGaO (CZGO) NPs in a simulated physiological environment for up to 48 h.

Persistent microscopic hematuria and hypertension led to investigation of glomerular and non-glomerular causes of hematuria. After reviewing his clinical course, family history, and laboratory testing, an additional test was sent, revealing the diagnosis.
