Targeted MYC2 stabilization confers citrus Huanglongbing resistance.

Huanglongbing (HLB) is a devastating citrus disease. In this work, we report an HLB resistance regulatory circuit in composed of an E3 ubiquitin ligase, PUB21, and its substrate, the MYC2 transcription factor, which regulates jasmonate-mediated defense responses. A helitron insertion in the promoter introduced multiple MYC2-binding cis-elements to create a regulatory circuit linking the PUB21 activity with MYC2 degradation.

Bio-inspired TiCT MXene composite coating for enhancing corrosion resistance of aluminum alloy in acidic environments.

Aluminum alloy (Al alloy) suffers from severe corrosion in acidic solution. Two-dimensional (2D) MXene-based composite coatings show great prospects for corrosion protection on metals used in special conditions. The composite coatings still face challenges in complex functionalization and orientation control.
