Background: Trichodermin (TCD), a sesquiterpene initially isolated from the fungus Trichoderma viride, has previously shown potent activity against pancreatic tumors and chondrosarcoma. However, its therapeutic potential in colorectal cancer (CRC) remains poorly understood.
Methods: Cell proliferation, cytotoxicity, and cell cycle distribution were assessed using the MTT assay, LDH assay, and Annexin V/PI staining via flow cytometry, respectively.
The maintenance of protein homeostasis, commonly referred to as proteostasis, is critical for the proper functioning of cells. Disruptions in protein degradation pathways can result in proteotoxic stress, which may ultimately lead to cellular apoptosis. Targeting the dysregulation of proteostasis has emerged as a promising approach in cancer therapy.

Ciprofloxacin is a fluoroquinolone-class antibiotic that is used to treat bacterial infections. The purpose of this study is to assess the mechanism of ciprofloxacin that enhances anti-PD1 in colorectal cancer.

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), the primary form of liver cancer, is the third leading cause of cancer-related death globally. Hernandonine is a natural alkaloid derived from Hernandia nymphaeifolia that has been shown to exert various biological functions. In a previous study, hernandonine was shown to suppress the proliferation of several solid tumor cell lines without affecting normal human cell lines.

Immunotherapy modulating the tumor microenvironment (TME) immune function has a promising effect on various types of cancers, but it remains as a limited efficacy in colon cancer. Midostaurin (PKC412) has been used in the clinical treatment of fms-like tyrosine kinase 3 (FLT3)-mutant acute myeloid leukemia and has demonstrated immunomodulatory activity. We aimed to evaluate the effect of midostaurin on the modulation of TME and the efficacy of anti-programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1) against colon cancer.

WNT1-inducible signaling pathway protein 3 (WISP-3) regulates angiogenesis and facilitates chondrosarcoma metastasis, but the role of WISP-3 in chondrosarcoma lymphangiogenesis is unclear.

Over the last two decades, there have been no significant changes in patient outcomes in relation to the treatment of osteosarcoma, an aggressive malignant neoplasm. It is known that vascular endothelial growth factor-A (VEGF-A) plays a crucial role in angiogenesis and in osteosarcoma. Moreover, VEGF-A expression correlates with clinical stages of osteosarcoma.
