Transthoracic echocardiography (TTE) at the time of acute decompensated heart failure (ADHF) may reveal significant structural and hemodynamic abnormalities that can guide clinical management. However, the impact of routine repeat TTE in uncomplicated ADHF re-admissions is yet to be established. We studied patients with repeat TTE at the time of rehospitalization for ADHF to determine downstream clinical impact.

High-sensitivity cardiac troponin I (hs-cTnI) assays have become a key tool in rapidly ruling out MI, with the potential to reduce health care resource utilization.
Objective: To determine whether a 0-hour and 1-hour (hereafter referred to as 0/1-hour) hs-cTnI accelerated protocol reduces health care resource utilization compared with a traditional 0/3-hour standard care protocol for MI exclusion in the ED.
Study Objective: The real-world effectiveness and safety of a 0/1-hour accelerated protocol using high-sensitivity cardiac troponin (hs-cTn) to exclude myocardial infarction (MI) compared to routine care in the United States is uncertain. The objective was to compare a 0/1-hour accelerated protocol for evaluation of MI to a 0/3-hour standard care protocol.
Methods: The RACE-IT trial was a stepped-wedge, randomized trial across 9 emergency departments (EDs) that enrolled 32,609 patients evaluated for possible MI from July 2020 through April 2021.

Background: TandemHeart has been demonstrated to improve hemodynamic and metabolic complications in cardiogenic shock (CS). Contemporary outcomes have not been reported.
Objectives: To evaluate the outcomes of the TandemHeart (LivaNova) in contemporary real-world use.
Study Objective: We determine how well a new Food and Drug Administration-approved single cardiac troponin T (cTnT) Generation 5 baseline measurement below the level of quantification (6 ng/L) and a novel study-derived baseline and 30-minute cTnT Generation 5 algorithm might adequately exclude acute myocardial infarction in patients with suspected acute coronary syndrome in a US emergency department (ED).
Methods: Patients presenting with any symptoms suspicious for acute coronary syndrome were enrolled at a single US ED. Baseline and 30-minute blood samples were obtained and cTnT Generation 5 levels were later batch analyzed in an independent core laboratory.

In the title compound, [Cu(C(8)H(4)O(4))(C(16)H(20)N(4))(H(2)O)](n), square-pyramidally coordinated Cu(II) ions are linked into [Cu(H(2)O)(isophthalate)](n) coordination polymer chains by isophthalate dianions. These chains are connected into undulating [Cu(H(2)O)(isophthalate)(3-bpmp)](n) [3-bmp is bis-(3-pyridylmeth-yl)piperazine] layers by 3-bpmp tethering ligands. The pseudo three-dimensional structure of the title compound is fostered by inter-layer O-H⋯O hydrogen bonding between the aqua ligands and unligated isophthalate O atoms.
