Background: Cockroach allergens remain underrecognized in allergic diseases, despite growing evidence of their clinical impact. This study investigated cockroach sensitization prevalence in allergic rhinitis (AR) patients and its cross-reactivity with house dust mite (HDM) and seafood allergens.

Methods: 110 AR patients sensitized to at least one of eight allergens: (PA), (BG), (DP), (DF), (BT), shrimp, crab and squid were enrolled.

Moving Towards an Integrated Approach to Allergic Rhinitis Management: ARIA and EUFOREA Guidelines Similarities and Differences.

Purpose Of Review: This review aims to raise awareness of the Allergic Rhinitis and its Impact on Asthma (ARIA) and European Forum for Research and Education in Allergy and Airway Disease (EUFOREA) guidelines for allergic rhinitis (AR) by presenting a side-by-side summary of their key elements. Drawing on the authors' direct involvement in the development of both, it highlights their evolution toward precision medicine and patient-centred care to support stronger doctor-patient partnerships.

Recent Findings: Both ARIA and EUFOREA offer evidence-based guidance to support AR management, with increasing emphasis on personalisation and digital integration.

Aim: To review the success rates and complications of interventions for functional epiphora in adults.

Methods: A systematic review of English-language articles from the electronic databases PubMed, SCOPUS, and Google Scholar. The primary outcome was subjective resolution or improvement of epiphora symptoms.

The effect of diluted 1% baby shampoo on biofilm reduction in chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyposis.

Background: Biofilm has been identified as the contributing factor for refractory chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyposis (CRSwNP). Nasal douching using baby shampoo was thought to be effective in patients with CRSwNP. We aimed to study the reduction of biofilm using diluted 1% baby shampoo.

From one biologic to another: the rationale and evidence behind switching therapies in chronic rhinosinusitis.

Purpose Of Review: Although biologics had been used to treat CRSwNP, not all patients respond favourably, necessitating the use of other biologics. As there are currently no guidelines available, the process and rationale for switching biologic therapy in the treatment of CRSwNP are examined in this review.

Recent Findings: Due to the heterogeneity of diseases, biologic therapies may efficiently control CRSwNP but give inadequate control for asthma, or vice versa .

Efficacy and safety of dupilumab in chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps: a systematic review and meta-analysis.

Introduction: Chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (CRSwNP) primarily displays type 2 inflammation, characterized by the activation of interleukin (IL)-4, IL-5, and IL-13 in the pathway. The purpose of this study is to determine the efficacy and safety of dupilumab (an IL-4 antagonist) in treating CRSwNP.

Background: Intranasal corticosteroid (INCS) remains the primary treatment for allergic rhinitis (AR). Understanding adherence, safety concerns and sensory preferences is crucial for optimal care.

Objective: This review aims to determine medication adherence, sensory attributes and adverse effects of INCS in AR patients.

The Expressions of p16, HPV16-L1 and HPV18-E6 in Salivary Gland Tumours.

Aims: This study aimed to investigate the relationship between human papillomavirus (HPV) infection and the development of salivary gland tumour (SGT) by evaluating the expression of p16 and the oncoproteins HPV16-L1 and HPV18-E6 using immunohistochemical (IHC) staining. Additionally, we assess the agreement between these oncoproteins and p16 in diagnosing HPV-infected SGT.

Methods: This cross-sectional study included all SGT cases undergoing surgical resection at Hospital Universiti Sains Malaysia (HUSM) and Hospital Raja Perempuan Zainab II (HRPZ) in Malaysia from April 2022 to April 2023.

Translation and validation of the Bahasa Malaysia version of the Nasal Obstruction Symptom Evaluation scale (M-NOSE).

Background: The Nasal Obstruction Symptom Evaluation (NOSE) is a questionnaire to assess patients with nasal obstruction. The aim of this study was to translate and validate NOSE to the Malay version NOSE (M-NOSE).

Due to contradictory outcomes in the literature, the aim of this meta-analysis is to verify whether the narrowband (NB) CE-Chirp stimulus (centred at 500 Hz) would produce more robust cervical vestibular evoked myogenic potential (cVEMP) responses relative to the conventional 500 Hz tone burst. The literature search was conducted using PubMed, Scopus, and Web of Science databases and the terms used were "vestibular evoked myogenic potential" and "chirp". The cVEMP parameters to be analysed were P1 latency, N1 latency, and P1-N1 amplitude.

Nasal nitric oxide measurement in allergic rhinitis and non-allergic rhinitis: a meta-analysis.

We report a rare case of localized anterior clinoid mucocele (ACM) with acute visual loss and a literature review of the endoscopic endonasal surgery. We advocate that endoscopic endonasal approach is the best choice. To our knowledge there a limited report on localized ACM that treated via endoscopic endonasal approach.

ARIA Care Pathways 2019: Next-Generation Allergic Rhinitis Care and Allergen Immunotherapy in Malaysia.

An increase in the prevalence of allergic rhinitis (AR) worldwide presents a significant burden to the health care system. An initiative was started in Europe designated as Allergic Rhinitis and Its Impact on Asthma (ARIA) to develop internationally applicable guidelines by utilising an evidence-based approach to address this crucial issue. The efforts are directed at empowerment of patients for self-management, the use of digital mobile technology to complement and personalise treatment, and establishment of real-life integrated care pathways (ICPs).

The Epigenesis of Salivary Glands Carcinoma: From Field Cancerization to Carcinogenesis.

Salivary gland carcinomas (SGCs) are a diverse collection of malignant tumors with marked differences in biological activity, clinical presentation and microscopic appearance. Although the etiology is varied, secondary radiation, oncogenic viruses as well as chromosomal rearrangements have all been linked to the formation of SGCs. Epigenetic modifications may also contribute to the genesis and progression of SGCs.

International consensus statement on allergy and rhinology: Allergic rhinitis - 2023.

Background: In the 5 years that have passed since the publication of the 2018 International Consensus Statement on Allergy and Rhinology: Allergic Rhinitis (ICAR-Allergic Rhinitis 2018), the literature has expanded substantially. Allergic rhinitis (AR) is an IgE-mediated inflammatory disease of the upper airway. AR affects the patients' quality of life, is a known risk factor for asthma and a socio-economic burden. Allergen-specific immunotherapy (AIT), comprising sublingual immunotherapy (SLIT) and subcutaneous immunotherapy (SCIT), involves administering increasing doses of the causative allergen to induce clinical and immunologic tolerance to the allergens.

Diagnostic value of serum and tissue eosinophil in diagnosis of asthma among patients with chronic rhinosinusitis.

Background: Chronic rhinosinusitis (CRS) is one of the most common chronic inflammatory diseases of sinonasal mucosa. Asthma among CRS patients is often underdiagnosed which makes the management of CRS more challenging. Therefore, using serum and tissue eosinophil as an indicator and predictor of asthma in CRS patients is vital for further preventing recurrent and increasing the effectiveness of treatment for CRS.
