The anaerobic ammonia oxidation (anammox) process has attracted considerable interest for its advantages in low energy requirements, reduced sludge output, and eliminating the need for external carbon sources. However, its application is constrained by the long generation time, slow growth, and challenges in enriching anammox bacteria. Studies indicate that carbon material addition significantly accelerates anammox bacteria proliferation, enhances nitrogen removal efficiency, and improves anammox microbial activity.

Diabetic wounds present persistent challenges due to impaired healing, recurrent infection, oxidative stress, and dysregulated glucose metabolism. Bioinspired polymeric microneedle (MN) patches have emerged as multifunctional platforms capable of penetrating the stratum corneum to deliver therapeutics directly into the dermis, enabling glucose regulation, antimicrobial action, reactive oxygen species (ROS) modulation, and proangiogenic stimulation. Recent experimental evidence has demonstrated that the integration of glucose oxidase-loaded porous metal-organic frameworks, photothermal nanomaterials, and antioxidant hydrogels within dissolvable MNs achieves synergistic bactericidal effects, accelerates collagen deposition, and enhances neovascularization in diabetic wound models.

Effects of chicken manure-derived black soldier fly organic fertilizer on soil carbon and nitrogen cycling: insights from metagenomic and microbial network analysis.

Black soldier fly (BSF) organic fertilizer is known to enhance soil fertility and promote plant growth. However, its effects on soil carbon (C) and nitrogen (N) cycling remains unclear. In this study, we established a BSF chicken manure bioconversion system to produce BSF organic fertilizer and investigate its impacts on soil C and N cycling, as well as microbial ecological networks through metagenomic analysis.
