Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is an endocrine-metabolic disorder characterized by ovarian dysfunction, with limited effective treatments. This study investigates the therapeutic effects and mechanisms of white kidney bean extract (WKBE) in a PCOS rat model. A PCOS model was established using letrozole, followed by intervention with varying doses of WKBE.

Catharanthus roseus contains nearly 200 bioactive monoterpenoid indole alkaloids (MIAs) that are effective in treating cancer and other diseases. Ethylene plays a significant role in enhancing MIA biosynthesis, and we have found that it greatly induces the accumulation of anhydrovinblastine. However, the regulatory mechanisms underlying this process are not yet fully understood.

Pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) is a progressive and life-threatening disease characterized by pathological remodeling of the pulmonary vasculature. The serotonin 2A receptor (5-HTR, encoded by Htr2a), a G protein-coupled receptor expressed in the pulmonary vascular wall, has been implicated in the pathogenesis of PAH. However, the effect of 5-HTR deficiency has not been investigated in rat models relevant to human disease and the underlying mechanisms remain unclear.
