Objectives: The primary study objective was to determine the proportion of oncology physicians treating gynecologic oncology patients screening for sexual health concerns among patients with gynecologic malignancies. The secondary objective was to describe these physicians' perspectives on their role in evaluating sexual health concerns and barriers to managing sexual health in a gynecologic oncology office, by training level and gender.
Methods: This was a cross-sectional, quantitative, 23-item survey based on a previously validated questionnaire.

Objectives: Contributors to disparities and worse cervical cancer outcomes include limited education and loss to follow-up after an abnormal Pap smear. Effective interventions are necessary to engage diverse populations. The authors piloted an intervention to assess acceptability, knowledge uptake, and follow-up.

It is important to understand the effects cancer treatment can have on sexual health and to have the tools necessary to identify and treat sexual health problems. This Clinical Expert Series discusses practical methods for routinely screening for sexual dysfunction and reviews sexual health treatment options for women affected by cancer.

The Telemedicine Usability Questionnaire included six subscales to assess telemedicine usability with 1-5 Likert-scale responses.

Objective: To examine the utilization of hormone replacement therapy (HRT) among newly diagnosed cervical cancer patients who experienced premature menopause due to primary treatment.
Methods: The MarketScan Databases were used to identify newly diagnosed cervical cancer patients <50 years of age with premature menopause after hysterectomy with bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy (primary surgery) or primary external beam pelvic radiation (primary radiotherapy). We examined the cumulative utilization of HRT until 24 months after the loss of ovarian function.

Objective: This study aimed to identify whether frailty is associated with the time between surgery and the initiation of chemotherapy for patients with ovarian cancer.
Methods: This retrospective cohort study included patients 18 years or older with stage II to IV ovarian cancer who underwent primary debulking surgery at a tertiary medical center between July 2006 and July 2015. Basic demographics and clinical information were obtained from a departmental database and the electronic medical record.
Objective: Loss to follow-up after abnormal cervical cancer screening disproportionately impacts underserved populations. Our objective was to identify perceived barriers to follow-up after abnormal Pap smear among underserved women.
Methods: Women with abnormal Pap smear presenting for colposcopy at an urban teaching hospital were asked to participate in qualitative interviews.

Objective: The objective of this study was to compare the rate of groin recurrence among women undergoing superficial or deep inguinal lymph node dissections in suspected early-stage vulvar carcinoma. Secondary objectives included comparison of overall survival and post-operative morbidity between the study groups.
Methods: A retrospective cohort of 233 patients with squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) of the vulva who underwent an inguinal lymph node dissection at two major academic institutions from 1999 to 2017 were analyzed.

Nearly 3% of the population carries genetic variants that lead to conditions that include hereditary breast and ovarian cancer and Lynch syndrome. These pathogenic variants account for approximately 20% of ovarian cancer cases, and those with germline pathogenic variants have an odds ratio between 4 and 40 for developing ovarian cancer compared with noncarriers. Given the high prevalence of genetic variants, multiple organizations, including ASCO, recommend universal genetic counseling and testing for women diagnosed with epithelial ovarian cancer.

Our objectives were to describe sexual function among women receiving systemic therapy for gynecologic cancers and to compare sexual function between women receiving upfront treatment versus treatment for cancer recurrence.
Methods: We conducted a prospective study of women 18yo and older receiving systemic therapy for gynecologic cancer in the upfront or recurrent setting.

Methods: Patients were enrolled after cesarean delivery and followed for 2-5 weeks with demographic, opioid use, and clinical characteristics collected from participants and the medical record. T-test, ANOVA, linear regression, and Pearson correlation coefficients were used in analyses.
Objective: To evaluate the effects of buffered lidocaine on pain scores during vulvar biopsy.
Methods: We conducted a double-blind, randomized controlled trial, using prefilled, sequentially numbered, randomized syringes to infiltrate either 3 mL of buffered or nonbuffered lidocaine before vulvar biopsy. The primary outcome was a pain score marked on a 100-mm visual analog scale during infiltration.
Background: Global health educational programs within U.S. medical schools have the opportunity to link their "global" focus with local circumstances by examining the challenges underserved communities face in the United States.

Increasing student interest sparked the development of this program, which has grown from ad hoc lectures and dispersed international electives into a comprehensive four-year elective pathway with over 100 hours of training, including three courses, two international experiences, a preceptorship with a clinician working with underserved populations in New York City, and regular lectures and seminars by visiting global health leaders. Student and administrative enthusiasm has been strong: In academic years 2009, 2010, and 2011, over half of the first-year students (173 of 311)participated in some aspect of the GHC, and 18% (55 of 311) completed all first-year program requirements.

The higher-order structural organization of the cell nucleus reflects the underlying genome-wide transcriptional activity and macromolecular transport processes. To study the microscopic organization of RNA distribution within the nucleus, a combinatorial library of fluorescent styryl molecules was synthesized and screened for an in vitro RNA response and live cell nuclear imaging. Four different cell lines (HeLa, A549, 3T3, and 3T3-L1) were analyzed in terms of higher-order nuclear organization.
