Methods: Twenty-eight patients who underwent NACT for advanced-stage EOC were enrolled in a retrospective cohort study conducted at Princess Noorah Oncology Center and King Abdulaziz Medical City between 2010 and 2021 and divided into two groups.
Background: Gynecological cancers (GCs) affect the reproductive system of females, and are of multiple types depending on the affected organ most common of which are cervical, endometrial, ovarian cancers. Among different risk factors for GCs, ABO blood group system is considered as one of the pivotal contributing factors for increased susceptibility of GCs. The aim of our study was to report on the demographics of GC patients and to investigate the relationship between the ABO blood group system and the risk of acquiring GC in our population.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFT-cell lymphomas (TCLs) are rare and aggressive malignancies associated with poor outcomes, often because of the development of acquired drug resistance as well as intolerance to the established and often toxic chemotherapy regimens in elderly and frail patients. The many subtypes of TCL are well established to exhibit marked geographic variation. The epidemiology, clinical presentation, diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment of TCLs in the Middle East (ME) are yet to be explored; hence, limited data are available about these entities in this part of the world.

Background: Problem-based learning (PBL) is a method of learning that has been adopted in different curricula of different disciplines for more than 30 years; the assessment of the students in PBL sessions in medical schools is fundamental to ensure students' attainment of the expected outcomes of conducting PBL sessions and in providing the students with the feedback that help them to develop and encourage their learning. This study investigated the inter-rater reliability of the tutor assessment in assessing medical students' performance in their PBL tutorial sessions.
Materials And Methods: This study was conducted in the College of Medicine (COM), in the academic year 2021-2022.
Zinc (Zn) is a vital trace element that plays a pivotal role in protein synthesis, cellular growth, and differentiation and is involved as a cofactor of metalloenzymes, performing a wide variety of metabolic, immune, and synthesis roles. Zn is required at all stages of an infant's and child's development, and severe Zn deficiency has been reported to lead to slower physical, cognitive, and sexual growth. Preterm neonates are at a higher risk of developing zinc deficiency for a variety of reasons, including low Zn intake from enteral feeds containing breast milk, relative malabsorption due to immaturity of the gastrointestinal tract with limited absorptive capacity, increased urinary loss of zinc, and increased demand during the early developmental stages.

Ischemic limb lesions occasionally occur in neonates admitted to neonatal intensive care units. Known risk factors include the placement of arterial catheters, arterial punctures to obtain blood samples, and the use of vasoactive/vasopressor medications for hypotension. Prolonged peripheral tissue ischemia may result in serious complications, and successful management depends on early detection, proper assessment, and the institution of appropriate intervention.

Background: Diffuse large B cell lymphoma (DLBCL) is the most commonly diagnosed subtype of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma (NHL). R-CHOP has significantly improved clinical outcomes in patients with DLBCL, however, its indication in the prevention of CNS relapse and recurrence is still inconsistent. Moreover, prophylactic methotrexate and/or cytarabine have been used prophylactically for DLBCL patients is at high risk of CNS relapse and to treat CNS DLBCL, however, their efficacy remains unclear.

However, the sensitivity and specificity of these tests vary between different techniques. Thus, in this study, we aimed to determine the superior method for detecting antinuclear antibodies (ANAs) and compare the accuracy of tests ordered by rheumatologists versus non-rheumatologists.

Central nervous system (CNS) relapse in patients with diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) is rare (2-5% of cases), but is a devastating complication with a poor survival rate. The administration of high-dose methotrexate (HDMTX) for CNS prophylaxis in patients with DLBCL is controversial and variable in the literature. The present study aimed to evaluate the clinical outcomes of HDMTX CNS prophylaxis in patients with intermediate and high CNS-International Prognostic Index (IPI) DLBCL using real-world data.
