Neurodegenerative disorders classified as synucleinopathies (Parkinson's disease, dementia with Lewy bodies, and multiple-system atrophy) are characterized by the accumulation of aberrant α-synuclein aggregates in neurons and glial cells. These diseases manifest clinically several years after the initial formation of pathological protein aggregates in the brain, making early and accurate diagnosis challenging. In recent years, a new method, which is based on real-time quaking-induced conversion (RT-QuIC) of α-synuclein, has been developed and validated.

Errors in data acquisition and management may become amplified as the applied randomized clinical trials (RCTs) forge new levels of clinical diversity and predictability in the use of laser photonic energy in both ablative (surgical) and sub-ablative (photobiomodulation (PBM) or photodynamic therapy (PDT)) applications.

Small-world networks and scale-free networks are well-known theoretical models within the realm of complex graphs. These models exhibit "low" average shortest-path length; however, key distinctions are observed in their degree distributions and average clustering coefficients: in small-world networks, the degree distribution is bell-shaped and the clustering is "high"; in scale-free networks, the degree distribution follows a power law and the clustering is "low". Here, a model for generating scale-free graphs with "high" clustering is numerically explored, since these features are concurrently identified in networks representing social interactions.

We examined the morphology of 50 specimens of Sulawesian Oreophryne and recognize a distinct, undescribed species. Based on morphological data and supported with phylogenetic analysis of the 16S rRNA gene, it is herein described and named as Oreophryne riyantoi sp. nov.

This article describes the core competencies recommended for inclusion in the veterinary curriculum for all veterinary graduates based on the American Association of Veterinary Medical Colleges Competency-Based Veterinary Education document. General practice companion animal veterinarians are frequently presented with patients having dental, oral, or maxillofacial pathology, and veterinary graduates will be relied upon for recommendations for the maintenance of oral health, including the prevention of periodontal disease, identification of endodontic disease, and knowledge of developmental defects. These recommendations should be made for all veterinary patients starting at a young age.
