Exosome-mediated communication in pancreatic cancer: From molecular crosstalk to clinical translation.

Pancreatic cancer continues to be one of the most lethal cancers globally, with incidence rates closely mirroring mortality. This high fatality rate is largely due to late-stage diagnosis, when treatment options are limited. Efforts to reduce PC-related mortality have focused on enhancing early screening techniques and improving treatments for advanced-stage disease.

Stress hyperglycaemia ratio is an independent predictor of in-hospital heart failure among patients with anterior ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction.

Background: Stress hyperglycaemia ratio (SHR) has been reported to be independently and significantly associated with various adverse cardiovascular events as well as mortality. Moreover, in-hospital heart failure following acute myocardial infarction has been demonstrated to account for majority of all heart failure (HF) cases with anterior myocardial infarction showing higher rates of HF. However, the association between SHR and in-hospital HF following an anterior ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) has not been reported earlier.

Recently, there has been growing interest in herbal therapeutics as a potential approach to address diverse neuropathological conditions. Despite the widespread prevalence of NDs, limited phytochemical has been reported for their promising therapeutic potential with distinct underlying mechanisms.

Accuracy of thallium scintigraphy versus coronary angiography for coronary artery disease in diabetics.

Objective: To determine the sensitivity and specificity of thallium scintigraphy in detection of coronary artery disease in diabetic patients.

Study Design: Cross-sectional validation study.

Place And Duration Of Study: The study was carried out from July to December 2007 in the Cardiology Department of the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences, Islamabad.
