Background: Breast cancer (BC) survivors receiving adjuvant treatments often report clinically relevant cancer-related cognitive complaints (CRCC), which have a significant impact on quality of life. We aimed to develop a comprehensive model of prediction of CRCC, including clinical and serum inflammatory protein data.
Methods: We included 9575 stage I-III BC patients from the CANTO cohort (NCT01993498).

Introduction: Primary anastomosis with a diverting stoma (PA) has been evaluated relative to Hartmann's procedure (HP) for Hinchey III/IV peritonitis in four randomized trials, all of which lacked power. We aimed to evaluate the safety of PA for this indication in real-life settings.
Patients And Methods: Patients who underwent surgery for Hinchey III/IV diverticulitis at 43 French centers from 2010 to 2021 were included in this retrospective multicenter study.

Purpose: Mutant p53 stabilized by heat shock protein 90 (HSP90) is a novel target in oncology. The open-label, randomized phase II GANNET53 trial is the first to evaluate the HSP90 inhibitor ganetespib (G) with paclitaxel (P) in platinum-resistant epithelial ovarian cancer (EUDRACT 2013-003868-31; EU FP7 #602602).
Patients And Methods: Patients were randomized 2:1 to receive G + P or P alone until progression.

Background: Acute right colic diverticulitis (ARD) is less frequent in Western countries than acute sigmoid diverticulitis (ASD). We aimed to compare the management of ARD and ASD operated on in emergency.
Methods: All consecutive patients who had emergency surgery for ASD and ARD (2010-2021) were included in a retrospective, multicenter, cohort study.

Background: Fatigue, cognitive impairment, anxiety, depression, and sleep disturbance are cancer-related behavioral symptoms that may persist years after early-stage breast cancer, affecting quality of life. We aimed to generate a predictive model of long-term cancer-related behavioral symptoms clusters among breast cancer survivors 4 years after diagnosis.
Methods: Patients with early-stage breast cancer were included from the CANcer TOxicity trial (ClinicalTrials.

Background: We aimed to generate a model of cancer-related fatigue (CRF) of clinical importance 2 years after diagnosis of breast cancer building on clinical and behavioral factors and integrating pre-treatment markers of systemic inflammation.
Patients And Methods: Women with stage I-III hormone receptor-positive/human epidermal growth factor receptor 2-negative breast cancer were included from the multimodal, prospective CANTO cohort (NCT01993498). The primary outcome was global CRF of clinical importance [European Organisation for Research and Treatment of Cancer (EORTC) Quality of Life Questionnaire (QLQ)-C30 ≥40/100] 2 years after diagnosis (year 2).

Background And Objective: Trough abiraterone concentration (ABI C) of 8.4 ng/mL has been identified as an appropriate efficacy threshold in patients treated for metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC). The aim of the phase II OPTIMABI study was to evaluate the efficacy of pharmacokinetics (PK)-guided dose escalation of abiraterone acetate (AA) in underexposed patients with mCRPC with early tumour progression.

The evolving landscape of opioid prescription practices necessitates a comprehensive understanding of emerging patterns, particularly among new opioid users discharged from emergency departments. This study delves into the intricate realm of opioid utilization by elucidating the prevalence of their prescriptions. A retrospective analysis of electronic health records was conducted, including a cohort of 71 patients who received opioid prescriptions upon discharge from emergency departments from 1 January 2022 to 30 June 2022.

The following paper gives a detailed description of the oogenesis cycle for the European Plaice (), from oogonia to post-ovulatory follicle, including ovarian follicle and sizes. Noteworthy particularities were the difficulty in identifying cortical alveoli due to their very small size. Quantitative histology (stereology) on histological slides was used to determine a first size at maturity for females from the English Channel, which was found to be smaller compared to the literature (19 cm).

Purpose: The aim of this study was to analyze the predictability of virtual surgical planning of mandibular reconstruction by osteogenic distraction (OD) with a custom-made osteogenic distraction device (DEOS) after ballistic trauma and to make recommendations to mitigate potential sources of discrepancy.
Methods: This retrospective study involved 12 patients who were victims of facial mandibular ballistic trauma and were reconstructed with osteogenic distraction with a DEOS device. Postoperative images were compared to the planned situation by means of several measures made in two plans : distraction plane and frontal plane.

Targeting selective estrogen subtype receptors through typical medicinal chemistry approaches is based on occupancy-driven pharmacology. In occupancy-driven pharmacology, molecules are developed in order to inhibit the protein of interest (POI), and their popularity is based on their virtue of faster kinetics. However, such approaches have intrinsic flaws, such as pico-to-nanomolar range binding affinity and continuous dosage after a time interval for sustained inhibition of POI.

Social inequalities are an important prognostic factor in cancer survival, but little is known regarding digestive cancers specifically. We aimed to provide in-depth analysis of the contextual social disparities in net survival of patients with digestive cancer in France, using population-based data and relevant modeling. Digestive cancers ( = 54,507) diagnosed between 2006-2009, collected through the French network of cancer registries, were included (end of follow-up 30 June 2013).

Caloric starvation, as well as various diets, has been proposed to increase the oxidative DNA damage induced by radiotherapy (RT). However, some diets could have dual effects, sometimes promoting cancer growth, whereas proposing caloric restriction may appear counterproductive during RT considering that the maintenance of weight is a major factor for the success of this therapy. A systematic review was performed via a PubMed search on RT and fasting, or caloric restriction, ketogenic diet (>75% of fat-derived energy intake), protein starvation, amino acid restriction, as well as the Warburg effect.
