Dietary n-6 and n-3 polyunsaturated fatty acid (PUFA) balance critically modulates various physiological processes, including inflammation and cell death. This study investigated the effects of different n-6 PUFA ratios (1:1, 5:1, 10:1, 20:1) on ferroptosis in porcine IPEC-J2 intestinal epithelial cells. Cells treated with varying PUFA ratios showed a significant reduction in cell viability, which was alleviated by the ferroptosis inhibitor ferrostatin-1 (fer-1).

Dipeptidyl-peptidase (DPP)-IV inhibition by penultimate N-terminus Pro-containing peptides is a promising strategy for Type 2 diabetes (T2D) management, as it prevents the degradation of incretin hormones (DPP-IV substrates) like glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1), thereby prolonging their half-life. However, the stability and bio-accessibility of these peptides are crucial to their efficacy in orally administered therapeutics. Intravascular large B-cell lymphoma (IVLBCL) is a rare extranodal lymphoma characterized by selective growth of neoplastic lymphocytes within small vessels, and often lacking lymphadenopathy or circulating malignant cells. Its clinical heterogeneity and nonspecific symptoms frequently cause delayed diagnosis and treatment. The dynamic interaction between immune recognition molecules and signaling pathways in the innate immune response of Penaeus monodon to White Spot Syndrome Virus (WSSV) infection is unveiled in this study. Through comprehensive gene expression profiling, we demonstrate significant upregulation of key immune genes, including a specific C-type lectin and a defined ficolin isoform, in WSSV-infected hemocytes, underscoring their pivotal roles in pathogen recognition and antiviral defense. Leveraging advanced molecular techniques, we successfully expressed, purified, and characterized these recombinant proteins, revealing their time-dependent expression and high-affinity binding to lipopolysaccharides (LPS).
