The emergence of SARS-CoV-2 has posed significant global health challenges. The nucleocapsid protein (N-protein) is a structural part of the SARS-CoV-2 virus and an important immunogenic target of specific antibodies, which are developed in the organism during the infection by this virus. Artificially designed specific (monoclonal and polyclonal) antibodies are also used for therapeutic and bioanalytical purposes, therefore, the assessment and characterization of newly designed antibodies is an important analytical issue.

MXenes, a class of two-dimensional transition metal carbides and nitrides, have emerged as promising candidates for biomedical applications due to their electrical conductivity, photothermal response, and rich surface chemistry. However, their biocompatibility is highly sensitive to synthesis conditions, particularly etching and delamination strategies. In this study, we systematically investigated the influence of different synthesis routes─using acidic (concentrated or diluted HF/HCl) etching and Li versus Na intercalation─on the surface chemistry, structural integrity, and biological behavior of TiCT and its carbonitride analog TiCNT.

Gliomas remain one of the most formidable challenges in neuro-oncology due to their diffuse infiltration, treatment resistance, and high recurrence rates. A major subset of these tumours harbour mutations in isocitrate dehydrogenase (IDH), which lead to epigenetic reprogramming and impaired homologous recombination (HR) DNA repair, presenting a unique vulnerability to synthetic lethality-based interventions. Poly (ADP-ribose) polymerase (PARP) inhibitors, which target HR-deficient cells, have demonstrated preclinical efficacy against IDH-mutant gliomas.

Upon time-periodic driving of electrons using electromagnetic fields, the emergence of Floquet-Bloch states enables the creation and control of exotic quantum phases. In transition metal dichalcogenides, broken inversion symmetry within each monolayer results in Berry curvature at the K and K' valley extrema, giving rise to chiroptical selection rules that are fundamental to valleytronics. Here, we bridge the gap between these two concepts and introduce Floquet-Bloch valleytronics.

Waste from livestock farms contains various pathogens, including eggs and larvae of helminths-pathogens of parasitic diseases harmful to animals and humans. One of the methods for their effective processing to obtain biofertilizer and biofuel is anaerobic digestion, which requires further improvement to completely suppress the viability of pathogenic microorganisms in mesophilic conditions. To this end, the use of anaerobic digestion under sulfate reduction conditions to suppress pathogens using biogenic hydrogen sulfide is promising.
