The current study presents a simple and cost-competitive method for the development of high-performance superhydrophobic and superoleophilic cotton fabrics coated with cadmium oxide/cerotic acid (CdO/CE)-polycaprolactone (PCL)- and cadmium oxide/stearic acid (CdO/ST)-polycaprolactone-grafted hybrid composites. X-ray powder diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy are used to characterize the CdO/CE-PCL and CdO/ST-PCL and polycaprolactone-modified cotton fabrics. Using an optical contact angle meter, the wetting behavior of corrosive liquids such as coffee, milk, tea, water dyed with methylene blue, strong acids (HCl), strong alkali (NaOH), and saturated salt solution (NaCl) on the CdO-CE/ST/PCL-modified cotton fabrics is assessed as well as the durability of CdO-CE/ST/PCL-modified cotton fabrics in corrosive liquids.

The Electron Backscatter Diffraction (EBSD) method has been characterized as a potential tool for analysing the microstructural changes that occur during the sintering processes and it possesses the ability to depict misorientation diagrams, pole figures and grain size distribution. The present work focuses on observing the microstructure evolution of the prepared 316 stainless steel with 10 wt% of BC samples sintered at the temperatures of 800, 900, and 1000 °C using the Spark Plasma Sintering (SPS) method. The samples are in the equiaxed form of recrystallized grains and they are elongated.

Recently, considerable interest has been focused on developing greener and biodegradable materials due to growing environmental concerns. Owing to their low cost, biodegradability, and good mechanical properties, plant fibers have substituted synthetic fibers in the preparation of composites. However, the poor interfacial adhesion due to the hydrophilic nature and high-water absorption limits the use of plant fibers as a reinforcing agent in polymer matrices.

For the first time, stable silver nanoparticles with a diameter less than 20 nm were prepared using SDS as a reducing and stabilizing agent and characterized, and then used to construct modified electrodes. The developed electrodes are more catalytically active towards the reduction of clothianidin. Clothianidin undergoes reduction at -300 mV Ag/AgCl on the silver nanoparticle-modified electrode, whereas no reduction peak was observed on a bare glassy carbon electrode (GCE).

The new 2,3-diphenylquinoxalin-6-amine (dpqa) was designed and synthesized through an efficient and high yield condensation process. Data from FTIR and H-NMR spectroscopy have been adopted to ascertain the molecular structure of benzoxazine compounds. Furthermore, the quinoxaline amine based benzoxazine (BA-dpqa) was synthesized using bisphenol-A and paraformaldehyde followed by combining different weight percentages (1, 5 and 10 wt%) of (3-glycidyloxypropyl)trimethoxysilane functionalized CNT-PbS with benzoxazine to obtain nanocomposites.

The enticing features of metal molybdates make them an attractive candidate for energy storage systems. This report describes the synthesis of three distinct single-phase bismuth molybdates (BiMoO; α-BiMoO, β-BiMoO, and γ-BiMoO) using the gel matrix particle growth method and their application in high-performance asymmetric supercapacitors. The single phase and purity of the synthesized BiMoO particles were confirmed by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and further verified by Raman analysis.

Lead-free halide perovskites have gained attention in recent years as viable materials with more distinctive characteristics than conventional semiconductor materials. Lead-free CsBiI colloidal perovskite nanocrystal is chosen to eliminate its single-phase synthesis difficulty and implement the material in bioimaging applications. Nanostructured CsBiI perovskite composites were coated with a thin coating of SiO by an tetraethyl orthosilicate/(3-aminopropyl)trimethoxysilane injection growth method to enhance their stability in aqueous medium and biocompatibility.

Herein, we report cellulose-based threads from Indian sacred Lotus () of the Nymphaceae family embellished with MoS nanosheets for its enhanced hydrophobic and antimicrobial properties. MoS nanosheets synthesized by a coprecipitation method using sodium molybdate dihydrate (NaMoO·2HO) and thioacetamide (CHCSNH) were used as a sourse for MoS particle growth with cellulose threads extracted from lotus peduncles. The size, crystallinity, and morphology of pure and MoS-coated fibers were studied using X-ray diffractometry (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM).

An attempt has been made on a constructive approach to evaluate the performance of snail shell ash (SSA) for its corrosion performance under marine environments. Corrosion performance of steel rebar in chloride-contaminated SSA with (0% to 50%) replacement levels of cement extract medium was examined through electrochemical and weight loss techniques. Initially, snail shell powder (SSP) is made by pulverizing and subsequently SSA is by thermal decomposition methods.

Supplementary cementitious materials (SCMs) and chemical additives (CA) are incorporated to modify the properties of concrete. In this paper, SCMs such as fly ash (FA), ground granulated blast furnace slag (GGBS), silica fume (SF), rice husk ash (RHA), sugarcane bagasse ash (SBA), and tire-derived fuel ash (TDFA) admixed concretes are reviewed. FA (25-30%), GGBS (50-55%), RHA (15-20%), and SBA (15%) are safely used to replace Portland cement.

Anti-inflammatory, specialized proresolving mediators such as resolvins, protectins, maresins, and lipoxins derived from polyunsaturated acids may play a potential role in lung diseases as they protect different organs in animal disease models. Polyunsaturated fatty acids are an important resource for epoxy fatty acids (EET, EEQ, and EDP) that mediate a broad array of anti-inflammatory and proresolving mechanisms, such as mitigation of the cytokine storm. However, epoxy fatty acids are rapidly metabolized by soluble epoxide hydrolase (sEH).

In this present study, we have determined the crystal structure of 2-acetamidophenyl acetate (2-AAPA) commonly used as influenza neuraminidase inhibitor, to analyze the polymorphism. Molecular docking and molecular dynamics have been performed for the 2-AAPA-neuraminidase complex as the ester-derived benzoic group shows several biological properties. The X-ray diffraction studies confirmed that the 2-AAPA crystals are stabilized by N-H···O type of intermolecular interactions.

In this study, a series of glucose-derived carbon catalysts were developed and applied for the activation of sulfite for the oxidation of As(III). The process of sulfite activation with the carbon catalysts is based on the production of oxysulfur free radicals such as SO, SO, and SO. The factors responsible for the sulfite activation performance of carbon catalysts are conductivity and ketonic functional groups.

In this study, biochar R550, obtained from rice husk charred at 550 °C, was used to detoxify Cr(VI) and organic pollutant p-nitrophenol (PNP) with the cooperation of sulfite, simultaneously. Cr(VI) was mainly reduced by sulfite, and the reduction was accelerated by biochar. Also, the reactive oxygen species formed in-situ as a result of enhanced oxidation of sulfite with Cr(VI)/R550 system and the activation of O by R550, led to the degradation of PNP.
