Background: Adenomatous polyposis confers an increased risk of developing colorectal cancer. and are the major genes investigated in patients suspected of having polyposis. In addition to and genes, other genes, such as , and , have recently been associated with polyposis phenotypes, conferring heterogeneity in terms of the clinical, etiological and heritable aspects of patients with polyposis.

Unlabelled: Contextualization: Lifestyle changes, such as smoking cessation, physical activity, and healthy eating, are essential for the treatment and prevention of cardiovascular diseases. The 2021 update of the European Society of Cardiology (ESC) guidelines highlights the need to investigate the adherence to the Mediterranean diet in patients who have suffered acute myocardial infarction (AMI).
Objective: The aim of this study was to investigate the adherence to the Mediterranean diet and dietary 2021 ESC guidelines of individuals who have suffered AMI and to evaluate the sociodemographic and lifestyle factors associated with the adherence.

Background: Chimeric Antigen Receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy has emerged as a revolutionary approach to cancer treatment. Given the rapid expansion of new indications addressed by newly developed CAR T-cell products, it is essential to standardize analytical methods for the characterization/monitoring of apheresis materials, drug products, and post-infusion patient samples.
Methods: The T2Evolve Consortium, part of the European Union's Innovative Medicines Initiative (IMI), conducted an extensive anonymous online survey between February and June 2022.

Background & Aims: Although overweight and obesity are associated with a higher risk of cancer, some studies have been reporting a better prognosis among overweight patients. The obesity paradox in cancer needs further investigation, since data are still controversial. The study aimed to examine if there is an association between different phenotypes of body composition and 5-year overall survival (OS) among patients with endometrial cancer.

Muscular dystrophies (MD) are a group of hereditary diseases marked by progressive muscle loss, leading to weakness and degeneration of skeletal muscles. These conditions often result from structural defects in the Dystrophin-Glycoprotein Complex (DGC), as seen in Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) and Becker Muscular Dystrophy (BMD). Since MDs currently have no cure, research has focused on identifying potential therapeutic targets to improve patients' quality of life.

Aims: Cancer is one of the main causes of death in persons with severe mental illness (SMI). Although their cancer incidence is similar, or sometimes even potentially lower compared to the general population, their cancer mortality remains higher. The role of healthcare provision and care equity in this mortality is increasingly being addressed in research, but available studies are limited in their scope.

Studying gene regulatory networks associated with cancer provides valuable insights for therapeutic purposes, given that cancer is fundamentally a genetic disease. However, as the number of genes in the system increases, the complexity arising from the interconnections between network components grows exponentially. In this study, using Boolean logic to adjust the existing relationships between network components has facilitated simplifying the modeling process, enabling the generation of attractors that represent cell phenotypes based on breast cancer RNA-seq data.

Background: Epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) is frequently activated in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) and serves as a valuable target for therapy. Despite the availability of the EGFR inhibitors Cetuximab, Afatinib, and Allitinib, there are limited predictive markers for their response. Understanding molecular aberrations in HNSCC could facilitate the identification of new strategies for patient clinical and biological classification, offering novel therapeutic avenues.

Some transcripts that are not translated into proteins can be encoded by the mammalian genome. Long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) are noncoding RNAs that can function as decoys, scaffolds, and enhancer RNAs and can regulate other molecules, including microRNAs. Therefore, it is essential that we obtain a better understanding of the regulatory mechanisms of lncRNAs.

Exposure to benzene may lead to the appearance of a series of signs, symptoms, and complications, which are characterized by benzene poisoning, which is an occupational disease. This study evaluated the presence of signs and symptoms related to occupational exposure and whether occupational exposure to BTX is associated with the development of hematological changes.

The excess cancer mortality in persons with severe mental illness (SMI) has been well documented, and research suggests that it may be influenced by care-related factors. Our objective was to assess breast cancer care pathways in women with SMI in France, using an exhaustive population-based data-linkage study with a matched case-control design. The cases were 1346 women with incident breast cancer in 2013/2014 and preexisting SMI who were matched with three controls without SMI presenting similar demographics, initial breast cancer type, and year of incidence.

Background: Cancer is a leading cause of disease and death in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC). Contemporary data on the cancer burden aims to inform effective cancer policies; this article provides an update and benchmarking of national cancer incidence and mortality estimates for the year 2020, alongside recent mortality trends in the region.
Methods: The number of new cancer cases and deaths were extracted from the GLOBOCAN 2020 database developed by the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), and mortality data over time from IARC's cancer mortality database, New cancer cases, deaths and corresponding age-standardized rates per 100,000 person-years are presented.

Purpose: Peptide Receptor Radionuclide Therapy (PRRT) with 177Lu-DOTATATE is a palliative therapeutic option for advanced Neuroendocrine Tumors (NETs). Prognostic factors can predict long-term outcomes and determine response to therapy. Among those already explored, biomarkers from full blood count, including neutrophil to lymphocyte ratio (NLR) and platelet to lymphocyte ratio (PLR) has shown value for other solid tumors and for NETs patients submitted to other forms of therapy.

Oxidative stress can promote the oxidation of lipoproteins and polyunsaturated fatty acids present in cell membranes; an event known as lipid peroxidation (LPO). LPO has been associated with carcinogenesis and cancer progression, however, its meaning concerning the clinicopathological aspects of human breast cancer is not clear. This study investigated LPO profiles in tumor and plasma samples from breast cancer patients (n = 140) considering their clinicopathological features (age at diagnosis, menopausal status, body mass index, tumor histological grade, tumor size, ki-67 proliferation index, presence of metastasis, chemotherapy response, the molecular subtype of cancer and overall survival status).
