Predictive value of IL-6, IL-1β, TNF-α, and vaginal pH in diagnosing vaginal microbial infections: A host-inflammatory axis perspective.

Microbial-associated vaginal infections are common among women of reproductive age and are linked to alterations in the local immune environment. Inflammatory biomarkers such as IL-6, IL-β, and TNF-α, along with vaginal pH have emerged as potential indicators of microbial dysbiosis. This study aimed to statistically evaluate the ability of these specific inflammatory cytokines and vaginal pH to identify infection status.
