Background: Mucormycosis, caused by filamentous fungi, is a rare but potentially fatal fungal infection associated with high morbidity and mortality. The COVID-19 pandemic has brought renewed attention to this infection, with an increasing number of cases worldwide. To study the clinico-demographic characteristics and their association with outcomes in mucormycosis cases.

Background: The Integrated Ayushman Bharat - Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) and Mahatma Jyotirao Phule Jan Arogya Yojana (MJPJAY) is a public-funded health insurance scheme in the state of Maharashtra. The scheme provides end-to-end cashless services for identified diseases through a network of hospitals from both the government sector as well as the private sector, covered under the scheme. AB-PMJAY is a scheme of the government of India.

Withania somnifera as an Adjunctive Treatment for Refractory Restless Legs Syndrome in Parkinson's Disease: A Case Report.

Non-motor symptoms of Parkinson's disease (PD), such as insomnia and restless legs syndrome (RLS), tend to worsen and become refractory as neurodegeneration progresses. We report the case of a 72-year-old female with a six-year history of PD and two-and-half-year history of insomnia and refractory RLS. We added a neuroprotective agent, , to the existing treatment regimen for her insomnia.

Acute haemorrhagic leukoencephalitis (AHLE) - our experience and a short review.

Background: Acute haemorrhagic leukoencephalitis (AHLE), a rare variant of acute disseminated encephalomyelitis (ADEM), often presents differently from classical ADEM, thereby posing a diagnostic challenge to the clinician.

Clinical Characterization and Genomic Analysis of Samples from COVID-19 Breakthrough Infections during the Second Wave among the Various States of India.

From March to June 2021, India experienced a deadly second wave of COVID-19, with an increased number of post-vaccination breakthrough infections reported across the country. To understand the possible reason for these breakthroughs, we collected 677 clinical samples (throat swab/nasal swabs) of individuals from 17 states/Union Territories of the country who had received two doses ( = 592) and one dose ( = 85) of vaccines and tested positive for COVID-19. These cases were telephonically interviewed and clinical data were analyzed.

Background: To assess the functional and radiological outcomes of minimally invasive anterior bridge plating (ABP) for mid-shaft humerus fractures in patients predominantly involved in overhead activities (athletes and manual laborers).

Methods: Forty-eight patients fulfilling inclusion criteria were treated with ABP at a level-I trauma center using a 4.5-mm dynamic/locking compression plate and followed for a period of 1 year.

Role of Serum Lactate and Malarial Retinopathy in Prognosis and Outcome of Falciparum and Vivax Cerebral Malaria: A Prospective Cohort Study in Adult Assamese Tribes.

Introduction: There is no comprehensive data or studies relating to clinical presentation and prognosis of cerebral malaria (CM) in the tribal settlements of Assam. High rates of transmission and deaths from complicated malaria guided us to conduct a prospective observational cohort study to evaluate the factors associated with poor outcome and prognosis in patients of CM.

Materials And Methods: We admitted 112 patients to the Bandarpara and Damodarpur Tribal Health Centers (THCs) between 2011 and 2013 with a strict diagnosis of CM.

Unilateral ectopic breast tissue on vulva in an adult female.

Among the ectopic breasts, an ectopic breast tissue on vulva is an extremely rare case, especially in adult period. To our knowledge only 38 cases of ectopic breast tissue on vulva are documented in the world literature, out of which only 10 cases of unilateral ectopic breast tissue on vulva has been reported. Because of its rarity here we report a case of unilateral ectopic breast tissue on vulva in an adult female.

Vesicocutaneous fistula caused by giant vesical calculus.

Vesicocutaneous fistula is an extremely rare complication of vesical calculus.To our knowledge only three cases have been reported in the World literature. Because of its rarity, here we report a case of vesicocutaneous fistula caused by giant vesical calculus.

Transverse colon volvulus with chilaiditis syndrome.

Unlabelled: Volvulus of transverse colon is a rare cause of large bowel obstruction. To our knowledge only 75 cases have been reported in the world literature and additionally only three cases of transverse colon volvulus with Chilaiditis syndrome have been reported to date. Because of its rarity here we report a case of transverse colon volvulus which was indeed associated with Chilaiditis syndrome.

Small bowel obstruction caused by appendiceal tourniquet.

True mechanical small bowel obstruction because of appendicitis is extremely rare. A case is presented, and diagnosis and treatment principles are discussed.

Dedifferentiated liposarcoma of the retro-peritoneum: histologically low-grade type.

A dedifferentiated liposarcoma of the retro-peritoneum of a 45-year-old female is described in this case report. It showed dedifferentiation into a histological low-grade type and thus defies the traditional definition of dedifferentiated liposarcoma. The excised specimen was a huge, multi-nodular encapsulated mass surrounding the kidney and infiltrating into it.
